Meet Matt Cottle. Matt, from Scottsdale, Arizona, was a bagger in a grocery store. One day, he asked his supervisor if he could switch from being a bagger to working in the bakery. She told him he’d never do anything more than collect shopping carts in the store parking lot 🛒

Matt was disheartened. He had fallen in love with cooking in high school during a culinary demonstration and thought about it constantly through six years of working at the store. Where did he go from here? 💭

After being rejected from multiple culinary schools, Matt finally decided to go his own way and pursue his dreams alone. He found a pastry chef willing to give him one-on-one lessons, and in time refined his craft to become the baker you see before you today 👨‍🍳

Oh, and he even opened his own bakery! As homage to both his new profession and his autism, he couldn’t help but give it a name that would help remind people of what he had to overcome to get to where he was. He called it the Stuttering King Bakery 👑

Together with his mother, Matt now serves up delicious baked treats around the Phoenix metro area – not bad for someone who couldn’t do anything more than collect shopping carts 😉
