Childhood Favorite ~ Povatica A multi-layered delicate pastry bread with three times more filling than bread dough enjoyed by our family for years. My grandmother would order English Walnut from the Slovenian bakery around the corner every holiday. We looked forward to it like opening presents. (No not the flannel nightgown 🤭) That was a long time ago. Now I can order it online from Strawberry Hill. The English walnut with or without raisins is always a must.The hardest part is figuring out what my second flavor is going to be. This year I chose the apple cinnamon crunch. absolutely delicious. And the fun part is I can enjoy it many different ways. Sliced plain with a cup of coffee, toasted with butter, and it makes an awesome French toast you have to try. .
