I went to a workshop to learn about sourdough and it was a piece of cake from there. Recently I bbae been experimenting with differnet things. I use organic unbleached flour to make my items healthier. My starter is a 50 year old starter that has served me well so far!
There are many benefits to sourdough.
1. Easy to digest
2. Fewer preservatives
3. Lower glycemic index- because it is a fermented food
4. Better for people with gluten sensitivity
5. More good acid
6. Healthy bacteria
7. Less yeast
8. Improves digestion
9.Nutritious- healthy carbs, protein, fiber, iron and vitamins such as folic acid.
I can tell you that I have eaten cinnamon roll, two pieces of bread, and pizza all in one day and never felt bloated as I would with regular breads. Everything is baked with love. My options are few right now but I am sure will grow in when I have more time to learn other things.
