Lake and Local Spotlight: Zo’s Mini Donuts

Our Lake and Local ambassador Katie caught up with Zoey from Zo’s Mini Donuts at the fair for a quick interview, and we are so glad she did!

Zo’s Mini Donuts was started by sisters Zoey and Lydia Heyn. Zoey has always loved baking, and while she made plenty of sweet treats for family and friends, there was one thing everyone kept asking for: her donuts.

What started with those hot, fresh mini donuts and Zoey’s homemade glaze has grown into an incredible local business with six food trucks and 35 employees. Even more impressive, Zoey started the business when she was just 15 years old.

But what we love most is their heart for the community. Zo’s has created opportunities for local high school and college students, giving young people valuable first jobs and real-world experience. Their community drive and the way they invest in the next generation is truly amazing.

And according to Katie? It was the best donut she’s ever tasted. 🍩😂 So naturally, we’re taking her word for it.

As Zoey heads off to college, the food trucks are now closed for the season, but there are still a few fall events to look forward to. Keep an eye on their socials to see where you can find them!

Their South Haven location is also open daily from 8 AM to 11 AM through Labor Day Monday. 🩷🍩

We love seeing young entrepreneurs build something special and then use that success to give back to their community. We’re excited to see what comes next for Zoey, Lydia, and the entire Zo’s Mini Donuts crew!
