Came out of retirement for my oldest son's wedding cake. It was hand-painted fondant with silk flowers. It was actually a dummy with a small area of real cake in the back for the cutting ceremony. I made kitchen cakes to serve. Took me a minute to remember all my tricks for covering Styrofoam dummies . . . when to use water, when to use Crisco, how to hold them in place while you smooth the fondant . . . It all came back to me and I didn't forget the vodka wash. 👍

Sorry, y'all -- I just now realized that I didn't share the photos of my granddaughter's first birthday cake! Her birthday was in December. Her parents picked out an adorable theme, and they did all the party decor and hors d'oeuvres. I made cupcakes, a smash cake, and sugar cookies to coordinate. A great time was had by all, and the birthday girl was just too adorable for words. 🥰

Hi everyone! I've missed you! I absolutely love my job at the elementary school. Our staff and students are wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoy being there. In March, right before the whole Corona situation started, my middle son got married to the lovely young lady he's been dating since 6th grade. (If you're doing the math, that's 9 years!) The two of them will both be graduating from Kansas State University in December in Agriculture-related fields and we couldn't be more proud of them. This is the cake I made for their wedding. I hadn't tried an ombre buttercream before, but I really liked how it turned out. 💞

Special notice for local customers: for the foreseeable future, I will be only doing wedding cakes and only during the months of June and July. I have decided to shift gears and work full time at our local elementary during the school year and do a select few wedding cakes during the Summers. Thanks for understanding! 💚💚
