I've had a TIME with Facebook and the name change. It's a mess, but I've landed on Grom & Bumble Gateaux; I'm in the process of changing my social media, so be patient with me as I iron out the kinks.
Give it a week or so for the change to show up.
Be the first to know and let us send you an email when Sonflower's Table posts news and promotions. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
I was a teacher for over 17 years. I’ve loved food and cooking exponentially longer than that. Teaching and being a mama and a wife kinda took over my life for a long time, and then, blissfully, God happened to me in 2014. That is a story in and of itself, and since this is a foodie place, I’ll weave that in with food stuff, and leave my entire testimony to another blog or site or in person, if you’re so inclined.
So, God, life, etc. Fast forward. 2017 happened. Ah, 2017. What a year. New school, new challenges, decline and death of a 10-year marriage, impending divorce. January of 2018. Middle kiddo’s birthday party. Cooking, decorating, cake delivery, cleaning, wrangling the soon-to-be 5 year old. Super busy. In His scary, perfect, not-always-understood-or-appreciated-at-the-time way, God did His thing, and He slammed on my life-brakes that night.
Mid-bite of Gracie’s incredible buffalo chicken dip (which sadly, I can no longer smell or eat- yucky association thing…), I suffered from a massive, multiple-lobe stroke, affecting numerous areas of my brain, and rendering me unconscious and sending me on a life-flight to UNC. Sidenote: I was marginally bummed post-stroke to find that I “slept” through a super-cool helicopter ride and various and sundry medical fascinations.
My recovery is ongoing; it’s been a little over a year now and every day presents its own struggles and challenges. According to medical people who know way more than I do, the fact that I’m still here is an absolute miracle. They say that the stroke and arterial dissection I experienced- medically and scientifically and whatever other “-ally” - in a textbook sense, should have taken me out. But see, God is way bigger than the “-ally”s, and He has a different plan. I can’t say exactly what that is- I’m not God- but He has taken me out of the classroom and placed me in a kitchen- to serve, to bake, to cook, to love. Sonflower- that’s me. A flower of the Son… I’m following Him, facing Him constantly, and blooming where He has me. Let me share His light and warmth- His life and love- with you… I’ll cook, bake, help plan- for His glory, for your family.
