After a long break, it's due time for an update!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There have been quite a few changes that have been going on--some good, some not so good, and many are still in transition.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First, I have decided to put Apron Warrior on indefinite hold for the time being. Ideally, I'd love to be up and baking for you all again by the end of the year or early next year, but that is to be determined. With everything going on, I've made the choice to lighten my plate and heal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have also lost some of my ability to taste. I can still taste some things, but it is muted. This is hopefully temporary but can take a long while to return. How did this happen? This leads me to my next update--I just had surgery for a cochlear implant.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My sudden deafness in my left ear was permanent. With much debate, I decided to get a cochlear implant. Due to the surgery being near a bunch of nerves, my taste was affected for the time being. I am also having a lot of vertigo. These things should improve with time. My activation date is on the 13th of May, so that is exciting.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have left the townhome and moved into a house. It is glorious to once again have a larger yard to grow things in and watch the wildlife. I am creating a backyard orchard culture and will be posting about my journey in urban homesteading as well as changes we make to the house.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finally, I'd like to start sharing more of our local bakers and makers as well as the historic and current locations of North County.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There will be quite a change on this account with what is being posted, but I hope it will be of some interest to you and you stick around to see what the future holds.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you all for the love and support you have shown me over the years. I can't wait to share this next chapter with you all.
