Funny how a piece of equipment can hold so much history.

When we first got our Mono four-deck electric oven, it felt like the biggest leap imaginable. That oven helped us grow from scrappy beginnings into something real. Countless loaves, sleepless nights, breakthroughs, failures, tiny victories… all of it passed through those decks.

But growth has a funny way of making you outgrow even the things you once dreamed about. Since moving into our new space, the oven has been sitting quietly for the last couple years waiting for its next chapter.

Huge shout out to our friends over at TMB Baking for helping make that happen. They put together a sweet deal connecting us with our friend Alex over at Fire Swamp Bakery, and we honestly couldn’t be more excited to see this beautiful machine head into the hands of another passionate baker.

Today it leaves the building, and it feels equal parts emotional, exciting, and like a real rite of passage.

There’s something beautiful about bakery equipment continuing its story — helping the next crew chase their dreams the same way it helped us chase ours.

Massive respect to TMB and all the work they do helping bakers across Northern California and beyond find the tools they need to build something special.

Here’s to good people, good bread, and keeping the cycle going. 🖤🔥

“I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams.”…….

Most people spend their whole lives chasing the proverbial dream, never realizing that they are standing in it the entire time.

At Rize Up, we’ve always been a little underfunded, a little sleep deprived, a little stretched too thin. But somehow, through the fire, we built something beautiful anyway. Not because it was easy. Because the people beside us made it worth it.

Hardworking hands. Kind hearts. Capable people showing up every day trying to make something honest out of whatever life throws at them.

That’s the real destination.
Not the money. Not the applause.
This right here.

Living the dream in real time.

At Rize Up Bakery, representation isn’t marketing — it’s everything.

Today a kind man named Mike walked into the bakery after seeing us featured on TV. He didn’t come for anything other than to support. And honestly… it made my whole day.

There’s something powerful about feeling seen. About knowing the story, the culture, the struggle, the art — all of it — connects with someone. Every loaf we make carries that intention.

Thank you to everyone who shows up for us, roots for us, and believes in what we’re building. Y’all make my heart smile. ✊🏾🖤

Calling all kitchen assassins 🔪🔥

We could really use an extra set of qualified hands for our upcoming cookbook photo shoot. Looking for somebody who can really get down in the kitchen, move with intention, and is mean with a chef’s knife to help prep dishes and keep the flow moving.

If you’ve ever wanted to be part of the behind-the-scenes process of building something beautiful, this is your moment. Having somebody solid come volunteer would honestly mean the world to me.

Lunch is on us. Good vibes guaranteed.

Hit me in the DMs if you’re interested ❤️

There’s something beautiful about watching an idea stop being yours alone.

Somewhere along the way, it becomes ours.

Today we finally get to set this thing off, and I’m just feeling grateful for the process — the late-night meetings, the chaos, the problem solving, the constant moving parts, and most of all, the collaboration.

Getting to create alongside people you respect… artists, builders, visionaries, people who have spent years sharpening their craft and are willing to pour that hard-fought skill, creativity, and energy into something bigger than themselves — that’s the magic.

Everybody brought a piece of themselves to this project. Every conversation, every idea, every adjustment made this thing stronger.

That’s the part people don’t always see. The trust. The vulnerability. The willingness to build together.

And honestly, that’s what makes me the most excited.

Not just what we’re making — but who we’re making it with.

I’m proud of this team.
I’m proud of this process.
And I can’t wait for the world to see what we created together. 🔥

There’s something beautiful about waking up before the sun, loading up bread still warm from the bake, and driving down to San Jose with a purpose bigger than yourself.

This morning, we headed south to be featured on NBC Morning News streaming, talking about our All Heat No Hate collaboration alongside Pass the Sauced and Flor de Chile through the incredible community at La Cocina.

Food has always told the real story of America. Immigrants bringing flavors, techniques, traditions, sacrifice, hustle, and soul — shaping neighborhoods, feeding cities, creating culture from the ground up. Bakeries. Street carts. Family restaurants. Tiny kitchens with impossible dreams.

This loaf is about more than bread.
It’s about solidarity.
It’s about standing shoulder to shoulder with the people who continue to make this country taste like something worth believing in.

All Heat. No Hate. ❤️🔥🥖

Pulled up to 281 Geary Thursday night to show love to x on the retail launch. No loaves this time — just came through to break bread with the homies and celebrate the work.

Watching your people build something from the ground up, brick by brick, late nights and all, is a beautiful thing. Proud of my guy and the energy he’s putting into the city. SF is still full of creators, dreamers, and people willing to bet on themselves.

If you’re in the city, go tap in and check the brand out. ✊🏽

There’s something a little suspicious about standing over a scale, portioning out grams of dehydrated starter into tiny packets. Feels less like baking… more like I should be looking over my shoulder.

But this—this is the good stuff.

Wild yeast. Time. Obsession. The kind of thing you don’t just make—you earn. And if I’m being honest, mine didn’t really come alive until a friend slid me a little something special. Dave from Outerlands . Just a taste. That was all it took.

From there? Off to the races.

Here’s the truth—they don’t tell you this part. You can grind, struggle, try to build something from nothing… but sometimes all it takes is a little generosity. A little guidance. A little love passed from one set of hands to another.

And now here I am… weighing it out, sealing it up, sending it across the country to a crew of testers ….real ones waiting to get their hands dirty with these recipes for the book.

Not spectators. Not followers. Co-conspirators.

You’re about to take these ideas, push them, break them, make them better. You’re part of the process now.

So yeah…..this might look like distribution.
But it’s really community.

A network of people bound by flour, fire, and the quiet, stubborn belief that this thing we do matters.

To everyone stepping up to test these recipes 🥰

Thank you.

This isn’t just my dream anymore.

It’s ours.

We’re done talking. Time to cook.

Recipe testing starts now. Starter packets are going out……flour, water, and a little bit of the colony that makes it all happen a leap of faith if you will.

You’ll get your hands dirty, break things, maybe even make something beautiful. Then you tell us the truth.

The response? Wild. Humbling. Exactly the kind of energy that makes this whole thing worth it.

This is how it begins. Not perfect. Not polished. But 100% Real.

Let’s get to work.

In a moment when immigrant communities are under threat, two immigrant/ woman owned businesses…..Flor de Chile and Pass the Sauced joined forces with Rize Up Bakery to do what they do best: feed people and build community.

Rize Up is beyond proud to present:

All Heat // No Hate a limited-edition sourdough expression of solidarity. Built as a collaboration, layered with Flor de Chile’s jalapeño crunchy chile and Pass the Sauced’s roasted fire salsa, it’s bold, unapologetic, and rooted in culture.

Each loaf is more than bread….it’s a statement. A portion of proceeds will go to supports La Cocina, uplifting women, immigrant, and BIPOC food entrepreneurs.

Because this city, and its food, exists because of them.

This loaf will be available for pick up Friday - Monday at our bakery as well as our weekend farmers' markets through the month of May!
