Happy Mother’s Day to all the Baddies out there! I am so grateful for these little tiny humans, they have built such a strong women! They have taught me patience, kindness, boundaries, control my temper, and let me know when my chin hairs and mustache grow back😆 I built my little business for them. To show them that they can do anything they set their mind too and to be a light and continue to love others and treat others as they would want to be treated! I hope you all feel the love today! Wow. I kinda suck at scraping. But I ended up getting it smooth so that’s what matters😆 Like I said this cake tried and tested every part of me and did some real character building. Giving up was not an option. So many times I just thought to myself you can give a refund, they aren’t gonna like it, you’re putting too much pressure on yourself. You see all that negative talk there? Yeah it’s gotta go. If the one thing you hear from me and this cake today is to not give up and speak kindly to yourself. DO IT. Words are powerful. You can bring life of death over yourself and others. So choose the wisely. Happy Hump Day! 🤘🏽🐫🫶🏽

Oh heyyyy it’s me. Ya girl Kay Kay😜 Been a couple weeks. As my immunity system has been down and out but little update! I finished a wedding cake a few weeks back and taking some time to reboot. As much as I love baking my body has been in flight or fight for the last 6-8months so I am trying to take the time to renew my body and give it some rest it so rightly deserves! Have y’all ever sat still with your thoughts and cleared the junk out your mind? It’s really hard and challenging but it’s so rewarding. I’ll bring the evolution of this cake through reels in the following weeks and that almost made me cry into a dream come true. But right now we gotta sit our tail down and rest. One thing they don’t tell you about having thyroid cancer is the toll it takes on your body! Aches and pains, sleepless nights (most of the reason why I would be up baking late), mood swings, fits of anger, and etc. It’s been a journey and I’m not out the clear yet but believe imma keep fighting and making small little moves to not give up on my dream. This is just a little hiccup and a friendly reminder to listen to your body and rest when it’s time to rest! I love you! Your Sunshine Baker, Kāya🫶🏽🌻

When you gotta fill some macaronis for an event. This is how you do it😆 I really love that my kids call French macarons, macaronis. It makes my day every time. This will be a busy week of baking and getting ready to leave town. I am so grateful we have all of presidents week off and I cannot wait to relax and chill at the beach ☀️🌻 Happy Monday cuties!

So funny story time: I am super OCD and a control freak and literally strive for perfection all the time. I took my kids down to the park and I like making my business cards round and kinda gives me peace and Lil Wes wanted to help me but the sizes I had were different, and y’all I am so proud of myself! I let him help me. And tired to not let it bother me that some of my business cards would look a little rounder than the others, but no one is going to notice but me😆 Sometimes you gotta let go of control and let people help you. It’s okay to ask for help. Everything is not gonna be perfect all the time, and that’s okay. And I made that little face so happy. I love that he always randomly goes through the day telling me how much he loves me. Truly one of the best reasons to have kids, you are their number one fan and they love you sooo sooo much😭🥹 Thanks for coming to chat and happy Sunday☀️🌻

Sooooo Hey cuties! Let’s get real up in herrreee. So many updates. 1. I’m going through a divorce. This is not fun, like at all, probably the darkest time in my life but I am going to be a ray of sunshine in this because that’s what I do and hopefully this will help someone to not give up and it isn’t the end just a new chapter. If you wanna be more nosey I made a TikTok for this journey. 2. My thyroid cancer is back! OH JOY! Looks like they missed a spot. And I need another surgery. Idk what that looks like moving forward but God had me the first time, so I know He’s got me this second time around and just makes my testimony even freaking cooler, and maybe now I’ll have that cool scar I’ve been wanting 😂 I’ll touch on this on TikTok too. 3. I wanna turn my business into a non-profit. I have a vision for this. Idk what I’m doing but we never know what we are doing. So I cannot wait to see how this unfolds this year. And how God will use my gifts to bless others. 4. I will NEVER be silenced again. I am gonna live out being this ray of sunshine that I am. And my light isn’t for everybody, but we protect our peace now. 5. I am here to love on and encourage you. Be your official hype girl and cheer you on from the sidelines while also running my own race in my own lane. Whether you’re black, blue, purple, dusty toes, believer, or non-believer. I wanna show you where my light comes from. 6. It’s all Jesus. Literally. All Him. He gets the glory I haven’t been able to accomplish anything without Him. 7. I am not doing custom cakes anymore. They do NOT bring me joy, unless it’s a gender reveal and you’re a well known client/friend. Don’t ask me. 8. I will be specializing in mini treats. You don’t need a big macaron…you don’t girl. You just need a taste. We about portion control now and as I am healing my diet, terrible easy habits (binge eater or not eating at all), and just overall health… we all on this journey together now too 😂 That’s all for now. Hey Cuties! My cuties wanted to make a cake push-pop. This is one of my ultimate best sellers. They are so fun for parties or really any occasion. I am really OCD having people in the kitchen when I’m cooking and baking because this is my little therapy and safe space by myself, but showing them how to my cake pops was so fun and great bonding time. And Amarey sure did make sure he had plenty of buttercream😆 I love showing my kids how to make yummy treats, and working on my controlling every little situation and making these perfect. We just get to be. And relax. And enjoy a little something special🫶🏽

What motivated me to start my little small business? These two little cuties here! When I first started back in 2020, I was navigating postpartum depression after having Amarey and struggling to find myself. But thanks to a few friends and some amazing army spouses on Facebook, my business began to flourish. This journey has taught me so much, and when I thought I failed, I learned to pivot. My heart is full of joy as I continue to grow, learn to set boundaries, and rediscover my love for baking. Most importantly, I get to share this journey with my kiddos and teach them to chase their dreams relentlessly. They inspire me every day!
