My nephew gets hitched next week and I had to make sure this chocolate cake recipe is stackable and how much frosting it takes....but now I have a delicious 3-layer, 8-inch chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese buttercream and I refuse to put it in my fridge.

Happy Monday y'all!
I’ve never been a super huge fan of oatmeal cookies… and then I make some, sandwich a good amount of caramel buttercream between two of them, and absolutely change my mind! 🤌🏽

Barely-there frosting, just how I like it.

My mum made everything from scratch… because there were 9 mouths to feed. And we always looked forward to—and craved—her cinnamon rolls.

They were soft and delicious, never overly sweet, and finished with a light glaze. Nothing fancy. Just really good, homemade cinnamon rolls—the kind you’d sneak back into the kitchen for when nobody was looking. 🤫

Maybe it’s because I’ve entered the second half of my life. Maybe it’s because I’m trying to cut back on all the refined stuff. Or maybe my taste buds have simply decided they actually like complexity of flavor and texture.

Whatever the reason, sourdough cinnamon rolls with just a smidge of frosting are my j̶a̶m̶ buttercream. 😂

And I have a feeling you’re going to want to try them when the next Cinnamon Roll Friday rolls around.

NOT petroleum-based—this packaging is made from FSC-certified wood pulp, so it won't break down into microplastics. That's a win in my book!
