Calling all my fall sourdough girlies! These long-fermented Sourdough Pumpkin Spice Muffins have officially arrived! 🎃

You’ll make a preferment the night before, let it ferment overnight, then mix in the rest of the ingredients the next day. Bake at 375°F for 17–20 minutes, and let them cool completely so the muffins can set.

They’re naturally fermented with sourdough starter, warmly spiced with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves, and topped with a buttery cinnamon crumble. 🍂

This recipe has been such a labor of love. I started working on it last year, but after a few failed attempts, I set it aside. Recently, I pulled out my notes, made some tweaks, and finally…she’s here, and she’s everything I hoped for! 🍁

🪄If you planted zucchini this summer, I hope when you’re swimming in it you try this recipe. It’s the perfect bake to put it to good use. These muffins are rich, chocolatey, and made with a long-fermented sourdough base that gives them the best texture and depth of flavor.

✨Adding zucchini to bakes is one of my favorite ways to sneak in some summer produce, and this recipe is just the start of a summery little series I have planned for you!

Now that things have slowed down a bit, I promise I’ll be getting my website up soon so you can find all my recipes in one easy place.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a long-fermented muffin that’s packed with flavor and soft texture. There’s something so satisfying about letting the ingredients develop over time, creating that perfect balance of tang, sweetness, and depth.

I’ve made some delicious sourdough muffin recipes, including:

Nothing says love like a handcrafted sourdough loaf! Especially one with a bold heart baked right on. ❤️

This beauty features a “be mine” lettering score (scored using my UfO bread journey) and a vibrant heart made with red rice yeast powder, adding a naturally stunning touch.

A recent crumb shot from a loaf I didn’t score—just let it do its thing! 💕

Made with organic bread flour, 81% hydration, and an overnight autolyse at room temp. I did a 1-hour fermentolyse, three sets of coil folds (spaced out whenever life allowed 😆), followed temp charts, and watched for fermentation cues instead of the clock. No clue how long the cold proof was… and that’s Type B sourdough for you! 🤷🏼‍♀️

For the past 8 years, these chocolate cupcakes have been a centerpiece of every single birthday celebration in our home. This recipe has evolved into something so meaningful and I converted it into a long fermented sourdough version, it’s now more special than ever.

Topped with a dreamy raspberry Swiss meringue buttercream and filled with homemade seedless raspberry jam, these cupcakes hold loads of love and memories. Sharing this recipe wasn’t easy because it feels like a family heirloom, one my kids will carry with them and (hopefully) pass down. (Insert mama tears here)

This is my second entry into the challenge hosted by Noelle Samantha .slice Joselyn and Maria and it feels fitting to share something so near and dear to my heart. These cupcakes are my love letter to tradition, family, and the joy of baking. 💕
