So sad to see this go ! We love dairy witch and always have.

After 74 years, Dairy Witch is closing.

That is not an easy sentence to type. There is a weight to it.

Bea and Pete Polemenako opened the window at 117 Boston Street in 1952, the same year their daughter Marietta was born. Marietta has stood by that window her entire life, but will be retiring this year. We will not be opening this spring. There will not be another season.

The open sign going up has always meant something around here. It meant summer was close. It meant the long lines on hot July nights were about to start. You stood in them on first dates and after Little League games, on visits home from school and after hard weeks at work. You brought your kids, and eventually your grandkids. You are why this place lasted 74 years.

We'll be sharing more in the coming days. Old photos, stories, and a few things we've been working on, so a piece of Dairy Witch can stick around even after the window stays closed. For now we just wanted Salem to hear it from us before anyone else.

Does anyone have cameras that face the diner ? Someone broke into the diner and stole all the money out of the register. This would have happened between 4:30 yesterday and 4:30 today.

Hey guys !!!! Come on down to BLACK CAT DINER for some really good specials and some great conversations, we miss everyone and want to know how everyone is doing. I know the board has been down but now we’re up again and for everyone that asked and cared about my dog he had the surgery and it was successful and he’s in recovery thank you so much for all your kind words. This year has been very trying for our families and stuff we appreciate all the love you guys give us 🫶🏽🐈‍⬛🍳❤️
