A little update as I know I haven’t been posting. I’ve been so excited about this journey. I’m making my menu, ingredient lists and preparing for my classes to get my Food Manager certification to apply for my Cottage food permit. Baking over the summer was difficult as I have no AC in my kitchen and my oven on heats the whole house up. With the cooler months approaching I’ll be back to baking and sharing my recipes with you all. The zoning officer is taking his sweet time getting back to me and is holding me up. He said Tuesday, I sent a friendly reminder message yesterday afternoon and still nothing. From what I’ve gathered online I should be able to conduct business from my home but it’ll look a lot different than I anticipated. Just waiting on him to confirm. Until then I haven’t given up hope and I’m still working on this chapter of my business just one day at a time and a bit slower than I anticipated. In all due time I’ll be baking for everyone and with luck by spring as it takes 16 weeks to get the permit approved. I’m not giving up, things will work out for the best, I just have to be patient.
