Friends, we need to talk.
Our first cold front is coming, (lows in the 50’s & 60’s) and apparently some weather folks are throwing around the words SNOW FLURRIES up where we live.

Y’all. We haven’t had that since the 70s. We moved to Florida to escape winter, not to suddenly need a survival plan and a Costco membership.

But fear not, friends. Cake Affection is preparing for this historic weather event the ONLY way we know how…
🥖FRESH Sourdough BREAD because it’s your rare chance to break out that crockpot or make soup!

🧁 CAKE because emotional support is important when it’s cold.

🥐 PASTRIES because if we’re going to freeze, we’re doing it with butter. And sugar. It makes everything better and we won’t argue about that.

☕ Something warm to hold while we dramatically discuss the possibility of seeing a snowflake.

So come see us this weekend and stock up on your carbs and comfort food. Because if Florida actually gets snow, we will absolutely be eating our feelings.

We’re a bakery. We believe in celebrating late, celebrating early, and celebrating for absolutely no reason at all.

So consider this your official permission slip to eat the cupcake. Get the pastry. Grab the extra treat.
Your Monday self can worry about Monday.

THROWBACK THURSDAY. 🥹

17 years ago, we put on our very first branded shirts and started building something we had absolutely NO idea would become such a huge part of our story.

Look at those babies.
We had big dreams, a whole lot of ambition, four kids to raise, and probably no clue how many sleepless nights, plot twists, tears, prayers, and “WHAT ARE WE EVEN DOING?!” moments were headed our way.

17 years later, we’ve built more than a business. We’ve built relationships, memories, a community, and a life that has been equal parts beautiful, exhausting, hilarious, and absolutely nothing like we planned.

We’ve weathered storms (some literal, because Florida), reinvented ourselves more times than I can count, and somehow managed to keep showing up.

And that guy in the picture? Still my favorite partner in crime. Even when he’s annoying. Which is often.

If I could go back and tell those two young kids anything, I’d say: Keep going. It’s going to be hard, it’s going to be messy, and you’re going to wonder if you’re crazy more than once. But some of the best things in life are built one imperfect day at a time.

17 years since Cake Affection was born. Almost 13 years in our little storefront.
One heck of a ride. And we’re not done yet.

P.S. We really thought those shirts were something, didn’t we?

NATIONAL DESSERT DAY IS TODAY… AND GUESS WHO’S CLOSED. 😂😭

That’s right. The bakery is closed, the ovens are off, and the cupcakes are just sitting there in our dreams.

But listen… we don’t believe in missing out on dessert.
We believe in CELEBRATING LATE. Because rules are rules, except when cake is involved.

So go ahead and survive the week without us.
We’ll be back FRIDAY with cupcakes, pastries, hand pies, and all the sugary goodness your little heart desires- cauldrons are BACK too!

National Dessert Day, observed late. So save those calories for a couple more days.

Honestly, dessert tastes better when you’ve had to wait for it. Probably.

THE SUN IS OUT. I REPEAT. THE SUN IS FREAKING OUT.

After approximately 47 years of rain (okay, ONE WEEK, but we’ve been through things), Florida has finally remembered how to Florida.
And where are we? INSIDE. BAKING. MAKING CUPCAKES. LIVING OUR BEST LITTLE FLOUR-COVERED LIVES WHILE THE SUNSHINE MOCKS US THROUGH THE WINDOWS.

Is this a cry for help? Maybe.
Are there cupcakes? ABSOLUTELY.
Do we need human interaction before we start naming the stand mixers and plotting our escape? ALSO ABSOLUTELY.
