Mini sourdough loaves, take two. 🍞

The first batch made six, and they were too big. Cute, but not really mini. So I split the dough into twelve, and now they’re about dinner roll size, with a crackly crust and a soft, tangy inside.

These cuties will be on the menu soon!

The crust is coated in black cocoa powder, and the dough is tinted with turmeric and beet powder. No artificial dyes.

This was just my tester, so it’s not perfect yet. I’m hoping to put it on the menu for Halloween week, and there may be a few smaller minis on the way too. 🎃

I asked what you'd like to see from The Whimsical Whisk in the near future, and one very dear friend (you know who you are) answered: "An option for payments via pigeon."

I've thought about it a lot. Who signs for the sourdough? What if Gerald gets distracted by a croissant halfway to my porch? Is "paid in birdseed" a legal wage?

For now, it's cash, Venmo, and (coming soon!) card. Pigeon payments are still under review, but I'll admit the application was very well written. 🕊️🍞
