When the birthday girl loves pink and dragons, you make a pink dragon! And if the dragon wants to fly, you make it wings from white chocolate melts and sanding sugar. Obviously. 😉

Creative cakes like these really make this job fun. And knowing it's for a child's birthday makes it rewarding, too.

This particular dragon cake is made of chocolate cake, berry buttercream filling, and a vanilla buttercream exterior.

Loved making these dog-themed cupcakes!

Pro tip: dog cupcakes and Chewbacca cupcakes are 90% the same...if you can pipe a dog with buttercream, you can pipe with buttercream. 😂

These cupcakes also happen to be ! GF chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream with some jumbo nonpareil sprinkles for eyes and pink sprinkles for a tongue.

My niece turned two recently, and one gift that each of my siblings' kids will always get is a birthday cake in whatever design they want. It's fun for both of us and I can't wait until they're old enough to be able to help with the process and tell me in their own words what sort of treat they want.

This past year, we learned the birthday girl really likes bees 🐝! Bee-themed cakes open up a world of possibilities: a bee, a honeycomb, a beehive, a whole nature theme?!

I landed on a combination of options 1 and 3: a beehive cake with bee cake pops! The cake pops turned out a bit, err, rustic, but i consider it a win for the first time I've made them.

The cake was on-theme too! Honey butter, with a vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream frosting. Cake pops were made of the same cake/buttercream combo with the help of black fondant, yellow candy melts, and white coating wafers as wings.

Happy Birthday, Miss Ruby! ☺️

We've been quiet on social media lately, recovering from a wonderfully busy December (thank you for your support!) and working on some cool new projects. One such project has been exploring vegan baked goods.

Today, we're introducing two new regular flavors that we just added to our menu: vegan-friendly chocolate and vegan-friendly lemon! Both frostings are also vegan-friendly: vanilla and chocolate.

Here's to a happy and healthy 2024 to all of you!
