Hoy se celebra a San Valentín, patrono de los enamorados🙏

Cada 14 de febrero la Iglesia Católica recuerda a San Valentín, obispo y mártir. El patrono de los enamorados nació en el año 175 (otras fuentes consignan el año 197) en la ciudad de Terni, a cien kilómetros de Roma (Italia), donde actualmente yacen sus restos debajo de uno de los altares laterales de la Basílica que lleva su nombre.

En el siglo III, en tiempos en los que se perseguía a los cristianos, San Valentín se consagró al servicio de la comunidad eclesial de su ciudad natal. Como obispo de Terni (antes, Interamna) arriesgó su vida muchas veces para administrar los sacramentos. Se dice que tenía predilección por unir a las parejas en santo matrimonio, pues eso multiplicaba el deseo en otros de constituir un hogar cristiano.

A San Valentín le encantaban las flores y solía regalarlas a las parejas que se comprometían para casarse, como expresión de su deseo de que tengan una vida feliz juntos.

As much as we would have loved to return for another Valentine’s Day baking season, K’Cupcakes has chosen to dedicate this time to serving and volunteering within our community during moments of despair and uncertainty.

We trust that this is a season to pause, to love through action, and to place others before ourselves. While this means stepping back from opportunities and income, our Latino community matters deeply to us, and celebrating in a big way does not feel right at this time.

God willing, we hope to return during the Easter Season, ready to bake again with renewed joy, gratitude, and purpose.

Thank you for your prayers, understanding, and continued support. 🤍

Este 10 de diciembre la Iglesia Católica celebra la Fiesta de la Traslación de la Santa Casa de Loreto🙏
Según una antigua tradición, la "Santa Casa" de Loreto es la casa de Nazaret en la que vivió la Virgen María. Allí, la Madre de Dios recibió el anuncio del Ángel Gabriel, concibió del Espíritu Santo y habría vivido después junto a Jesús y San José.

Esa misma tradición afirma que la casa habría llegado a Loreto, Marca de Ancona (Italia), desplazándose milagrosamente desde Tierra Santa (Palestina) -razón por la cual a este milagro se le denomina “traslación”-. Este evento, habría ocurrido en la noche entre el 9 y 10 de diciembre de 1294.
