A few weeks ago, someone emailed me to order ensaymada for delivery on September 26ājust one day after I returned from my trip. Honestly, I knew I would be tired and need some rest, but for some reason, I just couldnāt say no. ā¤ļø
This morning, I delivered the ensaymada without knowing that it was for a Celebration of Life honoring her beloved partner. It was his favorite Filipino bread. She showed me a photo of him enjoying ensaymada, and my heart was deeply touched. š„¹ā¤ļø
I asked for her permission to share this story and the photo because this moment felt too meaningful not to share.
It reminded me that food can hold so much more than flavor. A familiar bite can bring back a cherished smile, a treasured moment, or the comforting feeling of home. Sometimes, the food we share becomes a way to keep someoneās memory close and to express love when words are not enough.
Iām grateful that, in a small way, Marlaās Baked Goods could be part of honoring someone so special. What began as a simple order became a sacred reminder that the things we make with love can touch hearts in ways we may never expect.
I believe God places us exactly where we need to be, even when we do not understand why at first. Perhaps He knew that this delivery was not only about ensaymadaāit was about bringing comfort, honoring a beautiful memory, and sharing a little love during a difficult time. šā¤ļø
May we always remember that when we share food with love, we are sharing more than something to eat. We are sharing memories, comfort, connection, and a piece of ourselvesāand sometimes, God uses those simple gifts to remind us that love continues, memories endure, and no one is ever truly forgotten.
