Dear Pie People,
With an incredibly sad heart, I write to share that we've made the difficult decision to close The Better Berry Pie Company. I know. It's been hard to admit. We love this business, and more importantly, we love all of you. Everyone we have met along this journey, everyone who's purchased a pie, shared their stories, supported us in immeasurable (and measurable - we can see how many pies you've purchased!) ways, and everyone in between. I just say, "thank you." We are so grateful to you. We are grateful for the opportunity to try something scary. To grow. To learn and fail, learn and fail, and learn even more. It's been an incredible two years. I wish I could say it's been 10 and we were in a different place, but as I've shared, starting a food company is not for the faint of heart. Something we don't often talk about is just how hard physically, financially, and emotionally it can be for entrepreneurs, especially food entrepreneurs. There are so many walls in front of you, but it's worth every minute of trying to make it work. In the end, it's not that our company isn't working, we can see a bright and beautiful future for it, but we just can't take it there. We've said all along that we will keep doing this so long as it's fun, knowing that it's not always going to be easy. I realized not too long ago that I wasn't sleeping through most nights, and that my stress was impacting my loved ones and not just me, therefore, we've decided this is the right path forward for us. At least for now.
This has truly been the most amazing journey I've had the privilege to be a part of, and I'm sorry it's over, but hopefully just for now. Hopefully, something better will come from this beautiful thing we've all built together.
