Here’s my menu for Celina First Friday tonight:

3 packs of macarons (passion fruit, strawberry basil, key lime pie)…$6

Remember we’ll be set up in front of Speakeasy Steak and Ale House from 5-9. They will have a special pastry themed cocktail just for tonight! It’s inspired by Mille-Fuelle, which is a French pastry made with layers of puff pastry and custard 😋

Thanks to Downtown Celina Ohio for making it all happen!

If you can’t make it, I’d be happy to hold something for you. I may post what I have left tonight after it’s over.

Hi guys! I’m gonna be at First Friday next month in Celina. I’ll post details about where I will be set up as soon as I know. If you can’t make it over to Celina, I will reserve whatever you want to be picked up here 🙂. I’ll let you guys know what’s available once we get closer to the day. Considering I’ve made this cake five times in the last month or so, I’d say it has my vote for cake recipe of the year 🙂
Rhubarb Custard cake — chopped rhubarb folded into the batter as well as arranged on top, citrus zest throughout, a sprinkle of Demerara sugar for a little crunch, and a dense, custardy crumb due to the high ratio of eggs and sugar to flour. I feel like every year I blink and rhubarb season is over, so I’m happy to have taken advantage of it this year!

This was a fun project. Shortbread crust, pistachio cream, whipped pistachio-white chocolate ganache, raspberry confit, fresh raspberries, and a puddle of pistachio praline in the center 🙂
