Ag Ed CDE - 09/29/26

Last week Leah Pruit competed in the Ag Ed CDE where FFA members prepare a 10 minute lesson where they teach an ag-related group of students. Leah did an excellent job! In the picture above, students from the SJO FFA chapter went alongside Leah to serve as the “students in the classroom” where they sat and listened, participated, and learned from the Ag Ed CDE competitors.

Job Interview Recap - 09/29/26

Reid Bewley - Job Interview

I had to prep materials for the competition by getting my resume, job application, cover letter, list of references, and a job description ready. I had applied to be a cashier at IGA. I had worked with Mrs. Beeler and got all of my stuff correct before going off to the competition in Mahomet, there were had a virtual Zoom meeting, then an in person meeting. This would also happen with us filling out a job application and writing a follow up letter to the fake employers. Overall, the event was very fun and I hope I did well, everyone was very nice and we even got Monicals!

Ryan Schmitz - Job Interview

For the Job Interview CDE, we spent a couple weeks preparing resumes, cover letters, and reference lists for the competition. We made these resources and edited them, before eventually emailing some of it in, and creating padfolios from the rest. At the competition, we filled out a job application with our information, had a virtual interview over google meets, had an in person interview with a couple interviewers and a timer, and wrote follow-up letters to our interviewers.

The SJO FFA Community Outreach Committee held a roadside cleanup this afternoon!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped out and to everyone who slowed down and gave us plenty of space while driving by! We collected 8 bags of trash and are proud to do our part to help keep our community clean. 💙💛
