COMPLICATIONS…
We all know that things in the medical world aren’t perfect. My cancer diagnosis is nothing different. The cancer was gone, surgery fixed that. However as of my 3 month scan in December, it’s back and very aggressive. So what do we do?
January has been a very busy month. I had biopsies under general surgery that came back with what I already knew in my gut. After I recovered we immediately went over to the MD Anderson building to speak with the medical oncologist—AKA Chemo doctor.
Our plan is 3 rounds of high dose chemotherapy and then surgery. There has been success in the past to shrink tumors before surgery and that’s what we plan to happen in my case.
I’ve successfully gotten a port, and finished my first round of chemo which has been very eye opening. The amount of help that is needed on the home front is astonishing. I have one day of infusion that I get 2 of the chemo’s and then I come home on a pump for 5 days with the last chemo drug. I’ve never felt this amount of pure exhaustion or nausea before. But we’re making it and that’s what matters!
In the coming days I will share a website to what is needed help wise and also my amazing coworkers have created some shirts for people to show support and some of the money comes back to help out with medical bills, groceries etc. Please don’t feel obligated but I’ve already had so many ask how to help out so this will be the easiest.
Time to kick cancers ass again! ❤️🤍 UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE AGAIN TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR CUSTOM ORDERS. As I feel ok I will bake and make some for porch pickups.
