The results of my intergalactic mission are in...

Together, you donated $8,630.07 during my matching campaign, helping generate a total of $17,260.14 for Purple Tree! 🚀

When I first arrived from a distant galaxy, I wasn't sure what to expect. But over the last few months, you've welcomed me, my family, and our very important scientific research projects with open arms. You followed our adventures, shared our posts, visited the MIND cafe, stopped by the Davis Farmers Market, told your friends about Purple Tree, and made donations of every size.

Most importantly, you helped support meaningful, community employment opportunities for people with disabilities in Sacramento and Davis.

The Little Green Alien family is preparing their final Earth report before returning home on May 31. 👽

Current findings include:
✔ Humans run primarily on coffee

✔ Inclusion and meaningful work make communities stronger

They plan to tell everyone back home about Purple Tree’s mission to create a welcoming, supportive work environment for people with disabilities and bring people with and without disabilities together through food, music, and art.

🎩👽 The Brother has been studying Earth employment systems.

His conclusion? Too many workplaces underestimate what people with disabilities can accomplish when given the opportunity to succeed.

What impressed him about Purple Tree is that employees are not separated from the real work... they ARE the real work.

They are baking, serving customers, preparing drinks, and building transferable skills in a real business environment. That experience builds confidence and creates pathways toward long-term employment.

Also, according to him: “Every serious professional should own at least one Purple Tree mug.”

We are still unclear whether that is actual workforce advice or just aggressive merch promotion. 💜

We’re excited to share that Purple Tree will be participating in a new 3-part webinar series hosted by the California Employers Association in partnership with SETA : Demystifying Disabilities in the Workplace.

This free webinar series is designed to help employers better understand inclusive hiring, workplace accessibility, and the benefits of employing individuals with disabilities. Purple Tree will be joining an incredible group of partners — including the California Department of Rehabilitation, UC Davis MIND Institute, PRIDE Industries, Meristem , and others — to share real-world examples of inclusive employment in action.

At Purple Tree, we see every day how meaningful, supported employment builds confidence, community, and opportunity. We’re proud to help showcase what inclusive workplaces can look like and why they matter.

Little Green Alien 👽 recently attempted to measure Purple Tree's total energy outputs with specialized intergalactic instruments. 📡📶

At first, the readings were completely normal:
☕ espresso production
🍪 pastry distribution
👣 customer traffic
⚡ caffeine activity

But then his instruments detected employees encouraging one another, customers patiently supporting the team during busy moments, and people returning again and again because they genuinely care about the mission. That's when the warnings started flashing. Apparently kindness, encouragement, and community support are completely OFF THE CHARTS 📈💜

Little Green Alien has detected nothing else like this in our universe. 🌌

Mom 👽 spent most of her visit yesterday quietly observing the people around her.

She noticed customers patiently waiting during busy moments, employees encouraging one another behind the counter, and the way everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there together. By the end of the visit, she told the family the atmosphere felt welcoming in a way that was difficult to describe… but very easy to feel. 💜

That sense of community is what Purple Tree is all about. Every purchase helps create meaningful, community-based employment opportunities for people with disabilities while building spaces where people feel valued, supported, and connected. Sister 💫 arrived at Purple Tree yesterday with a very important mission: carefully document Earth’s baked goods for intergalactic cultural archives.

She spent nearly 20 minutes selecting the perfect cookies, adjusting lighting, and taking photos for the record. Unfortunately, the investigation took an unexpected turn when the evidence became too delicious to preserve. We can neither confirm nor deny whether additional “research samples” disappeared afterward. 📸🍪👽💜

The Little Green Alien’s dad has become completely fascinated by Purple Tree's business model. 👽📈

While waiting for cookies, he started trying to diagram the system on napkins:

Customers buy baked goods and drinks → revenue supports wages → employees gain meaningful paid work experience → Purple Tree grows → more employment opportunities are created → more baked goods appear. 🍪♻️

Then someone explained that donations also help fund and expand the mission, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of the program.

At that point, he reportedly added a second diagram and whispered, “So the cookies are funding the cookies… and the PEOPLE are funding the future cookies…” 😂 His mind was BLOWN.

Jokes aside, this is exactly why community support matters so much to us. Every purchase and donation directly supports meaningful, community-based employment opportunities for people with disabilities while helping our employees continue building skills, confidence, and independence.
