I want to wish you all a Happy Independence Day! Fourth of July is more then just fireworks, BBQs and gatherings. It allows us to reflect on the freedoms we have and the founding of the US in 1776. We have much to be grateful for even with the wild ride we have been on since 2020. Even through this holiday represents our separation from the British Empire, let this weekend bring us together in unity and hope for a better future. Enjoy your time with loved ones, friends and family and please be safe and responsible!

Who knew that Artisan lollipops could be a thing!!

I made these mango flavored lollipops last night to be used as decoration on my eldest daughter's 9th birthday cake.

I added in edible flowers (thank you Sara Bailey !) to create a natural look for her cake. I am super excited too see how the cake comes together!

I always let my kids decide on what cake flavor they want for their birthdays and most of the time they create flavor combos that are out of this world!
(I think the only cake flavor I have ever said no to was Bubble Gum 🤢)

This year, my eldest has chosen to have a Vanilla Bean cake filled with a passionfruit curd, a strawberry/mango compote, a cream cheese buttercream and a citrus white chocolate cake crumbs.

My mouth is already watering!! And I may have sampled a little...OK I'll be honest, a lot 😉.

A wedding is such a special moment in a couples life; it is the moment they join together and declare their love and commitment to each other in front of family and friends.

The tradition of a wedding cake goes back to Roman times when scone-like wheat or barley cake was crumbled over the bride's head to provide good luck.

The wedding cake symbolizes good fortune and fertility. It also brings good luck to everyone who eats it.

I am always so honored when a couple allows me to be part of their special moment.

This 3 tiered wedding cake is my Vintage cake; a dark chocolate brownie bottom soaked in chocolate sauce, topped with a light almond cake and filled with a cream cheese buttercream.

The rustic ruffles are made from a Swiss vanilla buttercream and the flowers are hand crafted from edible wafer paper.

Thank you to all the couples that allow me to make their wedding day just a little sweeter!

Small personal desserts are a fun way to engage your wedding 🍰 guests.

These Lemon Raspberry mini cakes were part of a trio of mini cakes that I created for a wonderful bride and groom.

Each guest got to choose from 3 flavors:

🍋Lemon zest cake filled with lemon curd and raspberry swiss meringue buttercream

🍫Dark chocolate cake filled with espresso ganache and espresso Swiss meringue buttercream

🍬 Light vanilla bean cake filled with dulce de leche and a salted swiss meringue buttercream

Having incredible cake flavors is a must for me and the added playfulness of the minis can't be beat!

The weather is warming, Covid restrictions are lifting and wedding season if finally picking up again!

I 💖 making wedding cakes for couples, especially when they are excited to play with flavor combos.

These sketches are for my younger brother's wedding; he and his Fiancé were actually scheduled to get married last summer but the pandemic put a halt to that

Playing with flavors is one of my favorite things about cake.
We all grew up eating birthday cake at friends parties, and although at the time the overly sweet cake did the job, now as an adult I prefer cake that has a balanced flavor and interesting textures.

Here are the AMAZING cake flavors picked by the bride and groom:

A versatile gluten-free and grain-free bread is a hard thing to come by.

This chickpea flat bread is a delicious sweet or savory flat bread that I love using for dipping, scooping and just plain snacking on!

In this picture the flat bread is seasoned with cumin, smoked paprika and green onions.

It is also amazing sweetened with honey and cinnamon.
