This is a topic that truly irks me! Anyone in the baking community that has talked to me knows I’m a huge proponent of ‘community over competition.’ I don’t gate-keep; I have answered countless questions from my fellow bakers on everything from decorating with buttercream to marketing to teaching classes. I’ve had many people help me on 𝗺𝘆 journey, so I always try to pay it forward!
That being said, I get very upset when bakers decide to steal others’ hard work because 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 don’t have the time, energy, and/or resources to plan, bake, decorate, and photograph their 𝘰𝘸𝘯 items for preorders. I can tell you that there have definitely been times I wanted to host a preorder but I couldn’t make my samples for one reason or another. So guess what? I didn’t host a preorder! It was disappointing but it was the reality of the situation.
Do your own work—don’t steal someone else’s.
