I do not mean this as boastful in any way but I wanted to share. I have had the great honor of being able to do what I love over 10 years now. Getting to enjoy my love of creativity and sweet treats is such a blessing to me. Yes, it can be hectic and downright exhausting at times but kind words from not only a client, but a good friend of mine since grade school, remind me why I love it so very much! It is an utmost joy getting to create for the special events of so many and to know it is appreciated is just the greatest thing ever! I want to thank you all who ask me to bake for your special events! Getting to know you and your family more, watching your own lives grow through the years…definitely on the top 5 of things I am most thankful to witness in my life! Without you all I could not enjoy this job that is so dear to my heart! Without you I could not have the flexibility of schedule to be able to be there for my special needs son at the drop of a hat if the need were to arise. Without you I could not help to provide for my own family. Without you I could not create almost on a daily basis. I remember in my senior memory book under the ‘what I dream to be one day’ I wrote in the job title of ‘trauma surgeon.’ Looking at that today I cannot help but bust out laughing. What on earth was I thinking?! First, I am never going to be smart enough to do anything near that…many have heard me say ‘I dye this hair blonde for a reason!’ 🤪 Second, Heaven help the patient whose caregiver is as clumsy and scattered as I can be. I tell momma all the time that I feel sorry her nurse has been me throughout her health challenges in the last 6 months. The things she’s seen this mind do…bless it! 😆 And third, all I can figure is I watched one too many episodes of ‘Trauma: Life in the ER’ on TLC. I wish I could go back to the college days when I was so confused and just never sure what I was thinking was the right ‘fit.’ If I could go back, I would go straight to Culinary Arts for Pastry and Baking. It’s not glamorous. It’s not going to make me rich or famous. However, it is my heart. It is the more low key, behind the scenes, quiet place I like to be in my comfort zone. When the days/nights are long and I want to give up I pray I remember comments like this are a big part of the ‘why!’
