Kansas AgriBusiness Expo – Wichita, KS

We’re excited to be at the Kansas AgriBusiness Expo this week, showcasing Agrilead’s product lineup alongside our partners at Kalo.

Our team is here connecting with ag professionals from across the region, discussing solutions for seed treatment, adjuvants, and performance products that help growers get the most out of every acre.

Today we honor the men and women and their families who have served our country to defend our freedoms, envied by the world. It is fitting that this day usher in a season of thanksgiving, because of the service and sacrifice of our Veterans we are abundant with blessings for which we must never take for granted. Thank you all Veterans and may your day be filled with reflections of gratitude from those of us for which you have sacrificed and served.

This summer Agrilead had the opportunity to collaborate with Star Seed and Arrow Seed Companies to show case their new American Acres grain sorghum varieties at our Research Farm on front street in Russell, Kansas.

All are invited to pull into the field driveway at the intersection of Front and Lucas streets and turn south on the grass strip on the West Side of the field to park and tour the varieties where you see the field signs. For those who are not able to make it here for a visit, we have included a brief video of the plots which include a mixture of early to full maturity red and food grade genetics to compare.

This is a great time in our area to watch the green colors of summer fade away to the fall bronze and red colors of the feed grains grown in our region. Best wishes to all of our area farmer friends and beyond for a safe and bountiful harvest.

Agrilead is pleased to help sponsor the 57th Annual High Plains Barbershop Chorus & Quartets production offering two performances on Saturday April the 5th at 2:00 pm and again at 7:00 pm at the Beach-Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the Campus of Ft Hays State University.

We have tickets to GIVE you while they last… just stop by our Agrilead office in Russell, KS at 345 S. Fossil Street during our regular business hours between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

If you have never been, we encourage you to come enjoy this wholesome, fun, and entertaining evening of music in a beautiful venue. Barbershop singing is Four-part, unaccompanied, close harmony singing, with melody in the second voice, called the "lead." The tenor harmonizes above the lead singer, bass sings the lowest harmonizing notes, and the baritone provides in-between notes, to form consonant, pleasing chords.

The performance this year will feature local and regional barbershop chapters along with 2008 International Gold Medal Champions OC Times.

HISTORY MADE! CONGRATULATIONS, RUSSELL BRONCOS WRESTLING!

Over the past two weekends, history has been made by our Russell High School Wrestling Teams at Regionals! For the first time since 2004, the Russell Broncos Boys Wrestling Team brought home the Regional Championship, battling through tough competition to claim the title!

But the excitement doesn’t stop there—Russell’s Girls Wrestling Team also made waves, with six outstanding wrestlers qualifying for State the previous weekend!

State Qualifiers - Boys Team:

• Xzander Donner (106 lbs - Regional Champion)
• Xzephren Donner (113 lbs - Regional Champion)
• Kolten Jones (190 lbs - Runner-up)
• Teagen Pfeifer (165 lbs - Regional Champion)
• Brayden Suchy (175 lbs - Regional Champion)
• Trey Zorn (144 lbs - 3rd Place)

State Qualifiers - Girls Team:

• Cambrea Solze (4th Place)
• Madison Raybern (5th Place)
• Chaysie Bachman (7th Place)

A huge shoutout to Co-Head Coaches Jason Pfeifer and Dan Weigel, named Hoisington Regional Coaches of the Year—a well-deserved honor for their dedication and leadership!

Saturday was a historic day for the Russell boys wrestling team. For the first time since 2004 and only the second time in school history, the Broncos captured a team regional championship.

Rural and Urban communities all across the United States have recently celebrated National FFA week. During the recent local FFA Alumni Scholarship Fundraising Event here in Russell, Kansas, Alumni member Jason Pfiefer reflected upon the special significance and influence of the FFA Creed upon so many generations of agriculturalist since FFA was formed in 1928 and the creed written by E.M. Tiffany was adopted in 1930.

New FFA members, called Greenhands, are expected to learn and embrace the creed. The creed may often be recited during meetings by an officer or selected member. The creed is an important part of FFA tradition and serves as a reminder of the values and beliefs that FFA members hold dear and that are baked into families, communities, and organizations influenced by it.

We are very grateful for the influence of FFA within the rural communities of our region and beyond, as well as within the families and culture of our business at Agrilead. We invite each of you reading this post to take a minute to read the FFA Creed and reflect upon its goodness.

🎉 Excitement is in the air this week as the Russell County Fair takes place! 🎉

We are thrilled to be part of such a vibrant community that brings together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the rich heritage of Russell County. From livestock shows to delicious food, drinks, and funnel cakes, to fun times, and amazing exhibits, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

We are midway through the fair, and there are still two more exciting nights of events you won't want to miss! Come out tonight for the children's tractor pull, a watermelon feed, and the kid's rodeo. Then join us tomorrow night for the 4-H Livestock Sale, Gier Memorial Ranch Rodeo and the highly anticipated Josh Meloy Concert. It's going to be an unforgettable experience!
