Baked from the Heart Community Bakery is now officially closed. We had a good run and greatly appreciate the Rush County Community for their support. When we started the bakery in January of 2017, we had three goals. To provide fresh baked good to the residents of Rush County, to provide our local bakers an outlet to sell their baked goods to the public, and to raise funds for Christmas Decorations for Rushville. In those goals we have been very successful.
Because of Baked from the Heart, many of our regular bakers have gone out and are baking professionally. Some of those bakers will be providing fresh baked treats to the new Mocha Moose Coffee shop which opens May 1st. The opening of which meets our number one goal. Finally, through the strong support of the community, we earned several thousand dollars that are being used to purchase new and amazing Christmas decorations that will be on display starting with Christmas on Main.
With our goals met, we felt now was the time to bring this chapter to a close and concentrate our resources on other worthy community projects. We would like to thank our almost two dozen local bakers who have been with us over the year providing wonderful treats. A special thanks to Kay Story and Cathy Shaw for their hard work and determination to make this a reality. There are many others who deserve thanks as well. Most importantly, thanks to the Rush County Community for making a crazy idea of a not for profit bakery supplied by local bakers a reality.
