A Note From Nana,
I aways come to you bright and cheerful, but at this time I have some things going on that prevents me from opening Nana's Bake Shop this year. First, you all know I had shoulder surgery an I am still recouping. Second, other than the few times I asked for prayer for my husband Chas, I was not specific how ever it was due to his lung cancer. It has been difficult because we were excepting the fact that had lung cancer. After radiation treatment it had been 2 1/2 years and all the follow ups were good. It was found that the tumor had grown from a simple chest x-ray for pneumonia. But we expected that could posable happen. However we were not ready for the next part of life. Chas went into the hospital for a bladder procedure because of a lot of pain and discomfort. I did not want to hear what the Dr. came to tell me. After directed to a family room the first words I heard were "you husband has en-stage bladder cancer." So many questions went through my head. How do I sit with him in recovery, do I tell him yet or wait until through the painful recovery process. That was the hardest thing I ever had to do, try to hold my tears back while seeing him in so much pain from the procedure. I may be a strong woman but even strong women wobble. So given the fact that Chas's time is short, however only our lord knows the exact time, or long I have decided to close the shop for now and spend my time caring for my husband and being with him. How ever short or long of time we may have each day will always be special.

Please pray for my hubby Chas. We are in the hospital and he had surgery yesterday. Received the worst news anyone could get. May God be with him through everything as we walk down the most important decisions of our life.

Made this Birthday Cake for a very Special girl who just turned 9. It took every ounce of energy in my shoulder to complete it and I know it’s not perfect but she was so happy since all so wanted was Baby Yoda or Grogu is his name for a cake. I had a different type of cake in mind but I knew there was no way my shoulder would handle it.
It sounds strange but I can’t wait for surgery. I miss baking and all of my customers. I miss the conversations more than you can imagine.

To all my customers. I will not be opening in the spring, so you will not be seeing me on my street corner. I am scheduled for shoulder surgery April 17 and will be off about 8 weeks. Up until then I will be taking individual orders. Please message me and I will get back to you. I have to have a reverse shoulder replacement but the doctor assured me recovery is not as long as a regular shoulder surgery.
