Do you want to save a life? Easy! Just consider temporarily fostering a FeLV cat that comes from the coast after evacuations of the shelters in the path of the storm that suffered and some still suffering damage. If you have an empty bathroom, even just a small one that can house a litter box and a cat bed, that's better than dead for a FeLVie in need. And it is temporary until they find a home or space frees up elsewhere.
We are FULL O' FeLVies right now!! These cats and kittens are in need of a foster home ASAP! Due to COVID restrictions, our FeLV Adoption Center is closed for the foreseeable future.
Not only do we have very limited space for these cats and kittens onsite, but we have been lucky enough (through your help!) these last few months to prove in real-time that our FeLV+ population have remained happier, and healthier by avoiding time in the shelter. This is already humbling and amazing, but to top it all off - they are getting adopted quicker because of this, too.
We get requests every day from all over the country asking if we can give these cats an opportunity to LIVE and BE LOVED, which they are unfortunately not always otherwise afforded. As we approach onsite capacity, we are putting our potential of continuing this unprecedented streak of successful life-saving outcomes at risk! I say let's keep a good thing going - how about you?
