Roselle Community Food Pantry Roselle Community Food Pantry was opened in September of 2014. Our mission is to end hunger in the communities we serve. Freely come and we will freely give!

We believe food is a basic human right, and we believe we are called by God to
collect and distribute food to those in need in our community. We also believe that quality of food is important. We're not just stocked with canned vegetables - we have fresh vegetables, fresh bread...and even quality selections of meat. Food is paramount to you and your family's personal health. There is no shame here - only the JOY of receiving and the JOY of sharing. God has put a fire in our hearts to share our bounty with those in need. Your visit will enrich our lives and further our faith. Information for Clients

**The food pantry is open to all current residents of Roselle, Bloomingdale and Medinah with drivers license/state identification and current utility/cable bill. No exceptions. This information must be presented at each pantry visit.**

There are no income requirements. Please call for an appointment. Only one person per address may register (regardless of number of family members living there). Clients may receive pantry services once a month. Information for Volunteers

If you would like to volunteer for the food pantry, there are many opportunities to serve. Some current volunteer opportunities:
- Pick-up food donations from our restaurant partners
- Sort and inventory food donations
- Work on pantry days filling client orders or carrying orders to client vehicles
- Clean-up and pantry maintenance

🌎 Today is World Food Day, a day that reminds us that access to nutritious food matters everywhere.

But sometimes the biggest problems in the world are also happening much closer to home.

Food insecurity affects people right here in our own communities.

They're our neighbors.

They're older adults living on fixed incomes. Families trying to stretch a paycheck. People dealing with job loss, rising expenses or an unexpected crisis.

At the Roselle Community Food Pantry, we're proud to be part of a community that responds with compassion and action.

One bag of groceries.

One volunteer shift.

One donation.

One neighbor helping another.

BEHIND THE SCENES 📦

Have you ever wondered what happens at the pantry before the doors open?

A LOT. 😊

Food has to be received, unloaded, sorted and organized.

Shelves and refrigerators have to be stocked.

Donations need to be checked and put away.

And everything needs to be ready before we welcome our first neighbors of the day.

Then it happens all over again.

The Roselle Community Food Pantry couldn't do what we do without the volunteers who quietly make all of this happen week after week.

What happens when you're not sure you'll have enough food for the week?

You worry.

You calculate. You stretch. You skip things. You make choices no one should have to make—groceries or medication, food or a utility bill, your own meal or enough for your children.

And that stress takes a toll.

Research has found a strong connection between food insecurity and mental health, including increased rates of depression, anxiety, psychological distress and sleep problems.

During Mental Illness Awareness Week, we're recognizing something we see every day: food is about more than nutrition.

Having reliable access to food can mean one less worry. One less impossible decision. A little more stability.

That's part of what our community makes possible every time you donate, volunteer, or support the Roselle Community Food Pantry.

🧡 YOU DID IT! $1,000 RAISED! 🧡

For Hunger Action Day, we asked our community to Donate $29 on the 29th — and you showed up!

Together, you donated over $1,000 to the Roselle Community Food Pantry.

Every $29 donation, every larger gift, and every person who shared our message helped make this happen. And every dollar will help us continue putting nutritious food and everyday essentials into the hands of our neighbors who need them.

But today, we’re not asking for anything. Today, we simply want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you for believing that food is a basic human right.

Thank you for caring about your neighbors.

At the Roselle Community Food Pantry, our mission starts with a simple belief:

Food is a basic human right.

We are called to collect and distribute food to those in need in our communities, and we believe the quality and variety of that food matter, too.

That's why our pantry isn't stocked only with canned goods. Whenever available, our neighbors can find fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, dairy products, meat, pantry staples, and personal hygiene items.

But there's something else that makes our pantry special.

We operate using a client-choice model.

Instead of simply handing someone a prepacked box of food, we let our clients know what's currently available and, within pantry guidelines, they choose what they want to take home.

Why does that matter?

Because every household is different. People have different tastes, cultures, dietary needs, and family circumstances. Giving people choices helps reduce food waste—and, just as importantly, gives our neighbors greater control over what they bring home to their families.

Food assistance should never mean giving up your dignity or your choices.

We're here to provide nutritious food and everyday essentials. But we're also here to provide something that costs nothing:

Choice. Respect. Dignity.

1,500+ reasons to say THANK YOU! ❤️

Take a look at these photos. Believe it or not, this is only SOME of what Trinity Lutheran collected for the Roselle Community Food Pantry!

Their recent food drive brought in more than 1,500 items to help stock our shelves and provide food and essentials for our neighbors in Roselle, Bloomingdale, and Medinah.

That is an incredible amount of generosity — and an incredible amount of work. From everyone who donated an item, to the people who organized the drive, collected everything, sorted it and helped get it to us, we are so very grateful.

Food drives like this make an enormous difference. They help us keep a variety of foods on our shelves so the families who visit our client-choice pantry have options when choosing what works best for their households.

To everyone at Trinity Lutheran who made this possible: THANK YOU for showing up for your neighbors in such a big way. ❤️

THIS is what community looks like. ❤️

Today, Friendly Ford pulled up to the Roselle Community Food Pantry with a truck absolutely FILLED with food donated by their customers, friends, family, and team.

We can’t begin to tell you how much this means to us — and, more importantly, to the families we serve.

Every can, every box, every bag of food on that truck will make its way onto our shelves and into the homes of our neighbors who need a little extra help right now.

To everyone at Friendly Ford who organized the drive, and to every person who added something to that truck: thank you. You didn’t just fill a truck. You helped fill our pantry — and reminded us once again what an incredibly generous community we are fortunate to be part of.

We are so grateful. ❤️

INTERNATIONAL COFFEE DAY + HOMEMADE COOKIE DAY ☕🍪

Coffee and cookies? Now that sounds like a holiday we can get behind!

October 1 is International Coffee Day AND National Homemade Cookie Day.

While we can’t accept homemade baked goods at the pantry, we’re always happy to receive commercially packaged, nonperishable cookies.

And coffee? Absolutely! ☕

If you’d like to celebrate with us, consider adding an extra item to your cart:

☕ Canned or bagged ground coffee
🍪 Packaged cookies
🍫 Packaged nonperishable treats

A little comfort can mean a lot, and who doesn’t appreciate a cup of coffee and a cookie?

Hunger Action Month ends today.

Hunger doesn’t.

Throughout September, we’ve talked about the many faces of hunger and the many ways each of us can make a difference.

But tomorrow, our neighbors will still need groceries. Our shelves will still need stocking.

And our work will continue. We’re grateful for every person who donated, volunteered, shared a post, or helped spread the word this month.

Together, we keep going. 🧡
