Here's a throwback cake in memory of my stepmom. I created this cake for my dad and stepmom's 50th wedding anniversary. We live in NC, and they live in Florida, so I shipped my equipment and tools and we flew down. My sister-in-law graciously allowed me to take over her kitchen for a day, and this cake was the result! My stepmom passed away last week, and she's definitely on my mind. I'm so glad I was able to create this beautiful cake for their anniversary. One thing I love about cakes...they bring people closer and always have memories attached to them!

Pro tip! Want to make your cakes "pop"? Make them unique by creating texture! I bought this grout scraper at a local hardware store. It has three different textures, plus a smooth side. Don't worry...I only use it on my cake creations!
