A little bit behind the inspiration for The Cheeky Hen...when I had my little one it seemed like time shifted and suddenly many of the hobbies I once loved I didnt have the time for or, maybe more accurately, I didn't want to take the time away from Hen. Baking quickly became a new love language in our home. It was a way for me to be creative, try new flavors but most importantly, I could do it with my son by my side. It wasn't too long before I found myself thinking how neat it would be to share that passion with others (plus we can only eat so many cookies by ourselves!). I caught myself saying things like "I wish I could do that" and when I stopped to think about it, that seemed really silly. We've only got one life to live, why on earth leave anything as an "I wish"? I started this project to hopefully impart on my son that there isn't an "I wish" that can't become an "I can" when you put your mind to it, and that you're never too old or too busy to try something new.
