Well, would you LOOK at this little slice of Southern comfort?!

Our Dinner Bell is officially being served, and goodness gracious… if this doesn’t look like Grandma’s cooking, we don’t know what does!

Homemade chicken & noodles piled over creamy mashed potatoes, smothered in gravy, and served with one of our sourdough biscuits!

And because Grandma would NEVER let you leave hungry, we’ve got some delicious homemade sides to go along with it!

AND THEN… our sweet friend Jamie with Sunny Creek Flower Co. surprised us with these GORGEOUS fresh flowers today!

Good food, beautiful flowers, and even better people. Some days you just look around and think… THIS is what it’s all about.

DING DING!!! THE DINNER BELL IS RINGING AT GRAINS!

And this week’s menu comes with a little story. ❤️

One of our absolute FAVORITE places to eat when we’re down at Kentucky Lake is a little place called The Dinner Bell.

And let me tell you…it’s not your typical restaurant. 😂

You walk into what feels like someone’s home. You’re eating at picnic tables, sitting elbow to elbow with people you’ve never met, and somehow leaving feeling like you’ve known them forever.

You’re eating in what feels like Grandma’s living room, helping yourself to food from cast iron cookware sitting on old stoves. And the food?! Ohhhh, it’s the kind of cooking that makes you wonder if every grandma in Kentucky got together and decided to feed you.

I’ll never forget one visit when Matt and I were sitting next to a gentleman who, in the BEST Southern drawl and his bib overhauls, looked over at the corn muffin sitting on my plate and asked…

“Are you gonna eat that corn muffin?”

We all busted out laughing! (I mean we can share it 😂)

And THAT is what makes a place unforgettable. Not just the food, but the people, the laughter, the conversations, and the memories made around a table.

So this week, we’re bringing a little of that inspiration home to Grains of Love!

Tender, slow-roasted chicken and homestyle noodles swimming in rich, savory gravy, piled high over homemade mashed potatoes with a buttery sourdough biscuit alongside.

Because sometimes you don’t need fancy. You just need a plate full of homemade goodness that feels like somebody’s grandma made it just for you.

And don’t worry…we’ve got a WHOLE lot more happening on this week’s menu! Fresh sourdough bagels, fall-inspired muffins, brownies that apparently nobody can be trusted around 😂, and some seriously delicious breads!

What’s that ONE restaurant you’ve visited that you’ll never forget? Not necessarily because it was fancy, but because of how it made you FEEL.

Seriously. It’s the kind of smell that stops you in your tracks, makes your stomach growl, and has you wondering what on earth we’re cooking up back there!

A Little Heads-Up for Thursday!

We are SO excited to be hosting a special luncheon for St. Marys Otterbein ASL this Thursday, October 15th!

With that being said, we wanted to give our Grains of Love family a little heads-up!

From 11:30 AM–1:00 PM, much of our café seating will be reserved for our special guests.

But don’t worry — WE ARE STILL OPEN! 🎉 With our full menu will still be available!

~ Calling ahead with your lunch order is a great option, especially if you’re on a lunch break!

~ Takeout is always an option! Grab your favorites and take a little Grains of Love with you!

~ Planning to dine in? Seating will be limited during that time, so if your schedule allows, consider coming a little earlier or later to enjoy lunch with us!

We absolutely LOVE getting to open our doors for special gatherings like this, but we also never want our regular customers to be caught off guard when they walk in expecting their favorite lunch spot!

Sure, they’re AMAZING just the way they are…but give one a side hustle as a HAMBURGER BUN?!?!

OH. MY. GOODNESS. 🤤

Slice it, griddle it with a little butter until it’s golden and toasty, throw on your burger, pile on your favorite toppings, and prepare to question why you’ve been using regular buns your whole life!
