Hey Memphis Junior Teams! 👋 We’re gearing up to hand out these custom Memphis in May cleavers in just a few weeks, and we want every one of you to be confident, safe, and unstoppable with them.
Emma put together this quick video to show you exactly how these knives perform — slicing through pork loin like butter, dicing peppers and jalapeños with precision, and even handling cheese cleanly. But more importantly, it’s all about proper technique and respect for the blade.
Key reminders before you ever pick one up:
• Always curl those fingers (claw grip) — keep them safe!
• Let the knife do the work — sharp blades cut easier and safer.
• Keep your board stable and your space clear.
• After use, wipe clean, dry thoroughly, and treat with food-grade mineral oil (just like the big jug we use in the shop).
These knives are tools, not toys. Master safe handling now and you’ll be prepping like a pro for years to come.
