🎉 8 years ago today, I made the biggest leap of my life and traded my cubicle & keyboard for my kitchen & rolling pin and took Emi’s Treats FULL TIME! 🍪💜

What started as a little side hustle turned into something I love doing every day! 🥰 15 years in business, 8 years full time, and still going strong!

And apparently, I’ve made it big enough to get my own Barbie! 😂💜 Now you can have your very own collector’s edition Emi’s Treats Barbie to share in your love of cookies! 🍪 (Accessories include coffee, cookies, and a little chaos. 😉)

Pizza-themed orders have been pretty popular lately, and I’ve got another one going out the door today.

I rarely go inside Sam's Club because I usually do pickup orders. You know… time is money. 😉

Well, I forgot to get my order placed in time AND I desperately needed powdered sugar, so inside we went.

As I’m pushing this cart around, a lady stops me and asks, “Are you a baker?”

Why yes, ma’am. Yes I am. 🍪

Thankfully, I actually had business cards with me, so I was able to give her one!

So I guess I’ve found my new marketing strategy: roam around Sam’s Club with an absurd amount of powdered sugar and flour and wait for people to ask what the heck I’m doing with all of it. 🤣

Hey, 1,600 followers!! 👋🏾💜 When did that happen?! 😂

If you’re new around here, welcome! I’m Emily, the baker behind Emi’s Treats, cookie obsessed, and maybe a little crazy 😜🕷️ I’ve been doing this little cookie business for 15 years now!

I’m based in Rock Island, IL where I make custom decorated sugar cookies for birthdays, weddings, baby showers, holidays, and pretty much any reason you can think of to celebrate! I also share lots of behind-the-scenes baking & decorating videos so you can see how everything comes together.

I’m a drop-in vendor at the Freight House Farmers' Market so you’ll see me pop up there from time to time throughout the season with seasonal cookie designs & Paint-Your-Own cookie kits! 🍪

When I’m not covered in royal icing, I’m usually hanging out with my husband, Travis, and our son, TJ. He keeps me pretty busy too! 😂💙

This little cutie was part of a Halloween order I made back in 2019, and I think she deserves a little comeback.

I guess it’s officially spooky season now, although I kicked it off last week. 😂👻

Here’s a little throwback to 2019 and a first birthday Halloween order I made. I remember this one because I just loved how cute these little Halloween cookies turned out. 🥹🎃🍪

I haven’t made a ton of Halloween cookies over the last few years because, let’s be honest… they’re competing with FREE CANDY. 😂🍬 But looking back at these makes me think I might need to change that. What do you think?!

So I guess there’s no holding back now… bring on the ghosts, pumpkins, bats and all the spooky little cookies! 🎃👻

One of my favorite things about making cookies is getting to make them for the same customers over and over again for all of life’s special moments. 🥰🍪

I first met Linda Barnes when she ordered cookies for her campaign for Alderwoman of the Third Ward for the City of Rock Island—and she won, by the way! 😉 She’s been such a big supporter of my business, so it was an honor to create something special for her son’s 35th birthday!

She told me her son is a spoken word poetry artist, sent me a few photos for inspiration, and I took it from there. I love when I get to put my own spin on an order!

I get a lot of compliments on my cookies, and I never get tired of hearing them. 🥰🍪

But one of my favorite compliments from the Market this weekend was actually about how pretty and put together my booth was.

As a one-woman business, I wear a LOT of hats, and marketing is one of them. I know my cookies taste as good as they look, but I also have to create a setup that draws people in and makes them want to stop by in the first place. 😂

So when someone complimented my booth, it honestly made me so happy—and made me feel like I got it right. The cookie compliments are always appreciated, of course, but that booth compliment really stuck with me.

Now I’m over here looking at this picture like… okayyy, little Emi’s Treats booth! 😃🍪
