At Blue Collar Bagels, we believe people should matter more than profits, hard work should mean something, and the money we spend should help build up our own community.

This Saturday is our last Second Saturdays of the season, and we’d really love to see you.

These Saturdays have been some of the most fun days we’ve had since opening Blue Collar. Seeing the shop full, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and watching this little community grow has meant so much to us.

We’re still a young business finding our legs, and your support has helped make this place what it is.

So come hang out one more time. Grab a bagel, drink some coffee, listen to some music, and spend a little time with us.

One more Second Saturdays. One more reason to come check out everything Downtown Rock Island has to offer!

The forecast is looking pretty perfect for the last 2nd Saturdays of the season: sunshine, bagels, coffee and John Born Music on the Blue Collar Bagels deck. 🎶☀️

WE’RE CLOSING THE GRILL EARLY TOMORROW.

Just two hours early, because Al and I are taking the show on the road and slinging sandwiches at Lowland.

So come get your Blue Collar fix early, then head over and get weird with us at the Autumn Festival. 🎃

Grill closes at 12 PM tomorrow.
We’ll be at Lowland IX from noon–4, we'll have sandwiches, bagels, spreads, some fresh baked goodies, and hopefully some of these bagels if they dont sell out at the shop first.

Go buy something from somebody who busted their ass to grow it. Then come sit on our deck and eat something made by somebody who busted their ass to make it.

Well…Our refrigeration went down overnight and we lost every last one of our bagels. 😭

These Rocky bagels were supposed to be about supporting Rocky and having fun. Instead, they became this over-proofed mess.

No bagels today — BUT WE ARE STILL OPEN.

Come grab a coffee, espresso, or whatever caffeinated beverage is going to get you through the day.

If you’ve ever said to yourself, “I should try their coffee,” seriously — today’s the day. Come see us. We could really use you today. ❤️

WHY ARE WE HERE AT 3:30 AM?

Because good bagels don't magically appear at 6 AM.

While the corporate shops are waiting for a truck, a freezer, or some guy in an office to tell them what this month's “bagel experience” is supposed to be, we're already in the kitchen.

Mixing dough.
Rolling bagels.
Boiling bagels.
Baking bagels.

That's the difference.

We're not reheating some factory-made circle that traveled across three states. We make our dough. We roll it by hand. We boil it. We bake it. Every morning.

It takes more time.
It takes more work.
It takes getting your ass out of bed at 3:30 AM.

But that's kind of the point.

No corporate playbook.
No factory bagels.
No shortcuts.
Just Blue Collar Bagels

Flour, water, yeast, salt, heat, and a couple of people who apparently thought sleeping until sunrise was overrated.
