I don’t even know where to begin.

This morning, I got up at 2:45 a.m. to drive for Uber. Like so many other small business owners, I’ve been doing whatever it takes to keep the bills paid while continuing to work toward building something of my own.

After spending the early morning driving, I came home to get a little sleep before heading back out to do it all over again.

When I closed my eyes, my Kiva campaign was still nearly $2,000 away from its $10,000 goal.

When I woke up, we were fully funded.

I sat there looking at my phone, trying to process what I was seeing.

For months, I’ve been pouring everything I have into Korey Baker’s. My savings, my time, my energy, and more sacrifices than most people will ever know. There have been moments of uncertainty, disappointment, and exhaustion. Moments when I’ve had to remind myself why I started this journey in the first place.

But I’ve kept going because I believe in what I’m building.

And today, while I was sleeping between shifts, people were believing in it too.

$10,000. Fully funded. Six days ahead of schedule.

To every single person who lent $25, contributed more, shared a post, sent a message of encouragement, or simply believed that this little bakery deserves a chance: thank you.

You may never fully understand what your support means to me.

This isn’t just about purchasing equipment or opening a storefront. It’s about creating something lasting. It’s about building a business rooted in family, tradition, community, and love. It’s about proving that even when the road is difficult, the dream is still worth pursuing.

Today, I woke up to a reminder that I don’t have to carry this dream entirely on my own.

I’m excited to share that Korey Baker’s has reached $7,955 of our $10,000 Kiva fundraising goal!

That’s nearly 80% funded, with just $2,045 left to raise and 7 days remaining!

The support we’ve received has been incredible. Every lender, every share, and every encouraging message has brought us one step closer to opening the doors of Korey Baker’s.

What started as a dream of creating a bakery rooted in Southern tradition, hospitality, and community is getting closer to becoming a reality.

I woke up from a nap today, checked my Kiva campaign, and just sat there for a minute.

93 people.

93 people have chosen to believe in what I’m building with Korey Baker’s.

I’ve been working incredibly hard behind the scenes. Searching for the right permanent home for Korey Baker’s. Driving Uber on the side to keep things moving. Working to establish the bakery at new pop-ups. Planning, problem-solving, making calls, sending emails, figuring out financing — and continuing to build even on the days when it feels like there are a hundred things standing between where I am and where I know this business can be.

And sometimes, when you’re in the middle of all that work, you don’t realize how far you’ve actually come.

Then I woke up today and saw this.

$4,150 funded. 42% of the way there. Powered by 93 lenders.

Some of you know me personally. Some of you have followed Korey Baker’s from the beginning. And some of you are complete strangers who simply read my story and decided, “I believe in this.”

I don’t take that lightly.
