9am-12pm at Christ Community Church gymnasium
WHAT IT IS:
Join us at our 18th Annual fundraiser event to support children in Cambodia. Come Shop with a purpose with our 19 local small business vendors, and donated hand crafts and baked goods. Many children in Cambodia are uneducated and or quit school after 5th grade and begin to work to support their families. Partner
with us as we give them hope for a future by keeping them in school. In 2008 Marti Ogren traveled to Cambodia on a Missions trip with Christ Community Church. There she learned that Hoa was at risk of being sold to a brothel. She was six years old. Marti's heart was broken and forever changed. In 2010 during another visit to Cambodia, she heard over and over again from missionaries that the best thing we could do to help girls to never get into the sex trade in the first place, is to provide scholarships for education. Girls and boys in Cambodia typically complete fifth grade and then begin working to support their family. An educated child increases their earning power outside of a brothel. And that was the beginning of Creating Hope 4 Cambodia. This is a ministry called to action to make a difference where we are. It costs nearly $300 for one student to attend school for one year. That includes uniforms, books and tests. The first year of the fundraiser, CH4C collected enough money to support eight girls for one year, and now CH4C is able to support 150 students each year. God is good! Seek justice. Love mercy. Walk humbly. Micah 6:8
