I had the honor to be asked to bake for a very special event that took place today. A name change that will remain a Rochester icon for at least the next ten years and most likely for decades to come. I watched the press conference this morning and the speakers embraced the essence of community that the Redwings and their ballpark bring. I was looking for a news clip to add here and found one with their mascot, Spikes, shaking up a few remaining cookies🤭.
Congratulations to everyone who made this possible. The name connects to our past, present and future. George Eastman would be very proud.

I have no idea what my tech guy did since I asked him to help me with my SEO traffic from my old website (that literally shut down on me with no notice) but business is booming.

Anyone who happens to visit my website may notice another change. Two weeks ago I received a random email from my brand new webhost, Castiron. One month in -after building a brand new site they notified me that as of that minute there was no longer anyone maintaining the site. They were all let go with no prior notice from an upper echelon. They said the sites would still be there but better get out since no one is maintaining them. In five years I’ve changed sites five times. Some were too expensive, too complicated for my customers to navigate, charged too many or expensive fees, one canceled me without notice when my monthly payment was held up because of a credit card that was compromised and the only customer service person was on vacation😡.

I’m back with my original host Wix, which is a big enough company to have some stability. I had to completely rebuild again but the silver lining is a fresh new site. It was launched today but there are still a couple bugs that need attention and a tweak of the mobile site view. I’ll fix it over the weekend. I’m on another adventure.

Since I had a new beginning and I’ve come full circle, I’m reintroducing the children’s artwork on a cookie that was the whole basis of my cookie company. The name Picasso, by no means was ever supposed to be about me, or even my cookies. It’s the children who hold all the natural talent we could ever imagine and they are just learning to express it. What a great way to encourage and celebrate a child’s creation. I was very surprised this wasn’t a top seller but I still believe in it and I’m giving it room to grow in this new space.

The new website went live today! I’m finding each one has its quirks. This new web host is run by castiron. They charge the customer the credit card processing fees instead of me! My customers can avoid them altogether by paying cash, check or Venmo.

This new site is much more user friendly, organized and I have two customers that have already booked on it with no issues. The redirect took place much sooner than anticipated and I’m taking a much earned vacation the last two weeks of August. I will hit the ground running when I return. The first week of September is booked tight.
If you have a minute, pop in and take a look. Check out the gallery by scrolling down, clicking on the “Get Inspired” page/more or on mobile- info/gallery. I’ll add a holiday category and touch up a few pics that need a quick edit. Other than that we are good to go! It’s my fourth web host in my five years of “official-ness”. I guess you can call me the Goldilocks of websites. I’m guess I’m just looking for the right fit!

Petite Picasso Cookie will be closed for NEW orders for the month of August. There’s a more user friendly website that is already up and running. Inquires for September can go directly to the site. It is fully functional but will not be connected to my domain until current orders are cleared.
