Wrapping up the final weekend of AAPI Heritage Month. Weekend 5 and of course, we saved one of the best for last.

One of our most loved collaborations is back this week: Happy Gut featuring their incredibly loved braised pork belly wrapped in our flaky pastry. Honestly, it’s a win every single time.

To pair with this week’s savory special, we have some sweet specials:

Week 4 of AAPI Heritage Month is inspired by a place that’s stayed with me for years: Singapore.

10 years ago, I first traveled while working at a boutique marketing firm, and it completely changed the way I thought about food and culture. It was the first place I experienced where so many Asian identities, flavors, and traditions blended together so naturally into something uniquely its own. That feeling continues to inspire so much of what we do at CRUST.

This week, we teamed up with one of my closest friends, , to bring you Singapore-style curry puff hand pies. Flaky, savory, warming, and layered with South Asian and Southeast Asian flavors along with some other heavy Indochina inspired sweets.

This week’s specials feel extra personal. The flavors are rooted in who I am as a Hmong American, flavors I grew up with, flavors that shaped me long before I ever thought they were “special.”

As a kid, a teenager, even a young adult, I never imagined Hmong food and flavors would become such a meaningful part of my work. It wasn’t until CRUST that I really began reconnecting with those pieces of myself I had quietly backlogged over the years. This bakery, this community, and this city gave me the space to rediscover my roots and realize just how beautiful and important Hmong food truly is. It’s home. It’s comfort. It’s me.

To everyone who walks into CRUST looking for something different but familiar thank you. Thank you for trusting my wild ideas, for embracing Asian and Southeast Asian flavors, and for allowing me to tell stories through food.

CRUST has become more than a bakery to me. It’s a space where culture, comfort, and community all meet. I’m endlessly grateful for our team, for this journey, and for every single customer who continues showing up for us week after week. ❤️

It’s Week 3 of AAPI Heritage Month and this week we’re diving a little deeper into my Hmong heritage and culture. Here’s me and my tais (grandma), I miss her 🥲.

For those who don’t know… Hi, I’m Rebecca, a first generation Hmong American. A lot of what we do at CRUST comes from that in-between space. Taking flavors I grew up with and transforming them into familiar American comfort classics through pie, pastry, and baking.

Because honestly, what’s more American than immigrant flavors blending into something entirely its own? Not fully traditional, not fully American anymore either but that’s kind of the beauty of it. Third culture food. Comfort food shaped by memory, identity, and the communities around us.

This week’s specials lean into Hmong flavors and I’m really excited to share them with you.

At CRUST, it’s about comfort, identity, and connection. So much of what comes out of our kitchen is rooted in the flavors we grew up with, the ones tied to family and friends tables. Sharing those flavors is our way to honor where we come from while connecting with our community through food.

For AAPI Heritage Month, we’ll be featuring pies inspired by flavors close to our hearts. It’s a celebration of culture, heritage, and the stories carried through food.

Starting out with a bang! We’ll have —An Indonesian women owned miro roastery popping up on Friday and Saturday! In honor of their Indonesian heritage, we’re pairing their coffee with some beef rendang hand pies this week.

Each week, we’ll have a few fun rotating specials. Stop in Friday-Sunday at our Southwedge bakery or at on Sundays.
