I thought I would be back in the fall, ready to start baking again. But as summer has gone on, I’ve realized that’s not where my heart is right now.
The time I’ve had off this summer has been truly wonderful. The camping trips, beach adventures, slow days, and everything in between have given me the opportunity to soak up so much precious family time and it has made me re-evaluate my priorities.
With homeschooling both of my children now, along with the co-ops and other commitments we’re involved in, my time is already very full. And as much as I love baking and loved building this little business, I know that if I jump back into taking orders, meeting deadlines, and keeping up with everything that comes along with running a bakery, something else will eventually have to take a backseat.
And I don’t want that to be my family.
My family will always come first, and right now I feel called to be fully present in this season of motherhood, homeschooling, co-ops, and family life.
I could have never imagined that someone with no professional baking experience and no business experience could turn a simple hobby into something that became a successful little business. What started as a love for baking grew into something so much bigger than I ever expected and that is because of all of YOU.
Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, for every order, every kind word, every share, every recommendation, and every person who supported A Touch of Grace and Crumbs. You have made this chapter so incredibly special to me, and I will always be grateful.
I’m not ready to make a definite decision about the future of the bakery, so I’m leaving that door open for now. But at this time, I will not be reopening for orders.
Instead, I’m excited to step into this new season—to homeschool my children, be involved in our co-ops, make memories, and simply be more present with my family.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. It has meant more than you know.
With love,
