Maddie Cakes started out of my home, where I was a one woman show for a few years, and as I watched my business (hobby) grow, I felt that it was time to expand - leading to the plaza. My background is in the fine arts, and I have a Master's Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling. I've always had a passion for baking and cooking (I get it from my momma!), and especially decorating. akes shortly after my daughter was born. Maddie Cakes got it's name from my daughter Madison (she will be turning 4 this summer!), because I would sing "Maddie Cake, Maddie Cake" instead of "Patty Cake, Patty Cake." It all just made sense from there on out! We are also a full service Café serving an array of baked goods, espresso bar, and lunch service! from scratch soups, and sandwiches! In terms of cakes and cupcakes: I currently have over 40 flavors of gourmet cupcakes, and I am always coming up with new flavors and adding to the list! I prefer to bake everything from scratch (including frostings, fillings, toppings, and most garnishes). Every cake is a work of art, and delicious too! I am skilled in fondant covered cakes, flower making, edible sculptures and figures, hand painting, and also sculpted 3-dimensional cakes. I will do my best to come up with a custom order to suit your needs!

I'm not one for sharing my feelings and too much of my personal life on social media, but today, this hit hard.

As I sit here on the floor of the shop front in tears, I'm reminded of the beginning, my hopes and dreams, the excitement of a new adventure, choosing to open in the community I grew up in, and all the goals I hoped to achieve.

My tears are a mix of grief and loss, but also gratefulness. I've been so blessed by God for this opportunity, to share my gifts, to make new relationships and friends, and to be a special part of other people's memories and events. I'm so thankful for my family and all they've sacrificed for my dream. I hope I've made them proud.

Sometimes, knowing when to close a chapter is just as important as the dream to start a new one.

Here's to 2026 friends... this isn't goodbye, just a new beginning. ❤️❤️❤️

I couldn't wait to post this wedding cake from last weekend. There's something about winter weddings that are a little extra magical 💖 This was a cake I was worrying about for months 😬, but I'm so happy with how it turned out! Even if it took over 2 hrs just to set up at the venue 😅😂.

Today was a bittersweet day. 😪

11 years ago, I opened the doors for the first time. I am so thankful I kept them open that long, but am also sad that I had to close them. While I'm unsure of what the future looks like for me and my business (which is super scary), I'm hoping this transition goes smoothly.

December will be the final month at the storefront location for order pick-ups.

This is it, my friends 🧡

Our final week for walk-in food and bakery services has arrived. After 11/14 and until Christmas Eve, I will be available by appointment for special order pick-ups.

We've had a LOT of requests for some well loved soups! Of course, our Ham Pot Pie was top of the list (as usual, Thursday in place of our meal special), Chicken with Wild Rice, Cheeseburger Chowder, Beef Vegetable, and Potato Soup.

Don't forget to place your Thanksgiving dessert orders by Saturday!
