Although I do offer fondant cakes as well, almost all of the cakes I make are frosted with buttercream. Day 3 of Cupcake camp!!! We had a great time making fondant dogs (or in some cases guinea pigs). Then the campers made fondant toppers for their cupcakes. I'm super impressed with their creativity and I can't wait to see how things go with our Cupcake War tomorrow!

Our First Day of Cupcake Camp was so much fun! Time sure flies by and we ended up having only a few minutes to decorate our cupcakes today, but the campers still did a great job!

How is it Thursday already?? We spent our day frosting our cakes and making cute fondant creations. I can't wait to see how their cakes turn out tomorrow!!!

Whew, today was busy!!! We made frosting, stacked our cake layers, turned our cake tops into cake pops, and then made some fondant decorations for the cake pops. I was so busy that I didn't take as many pictures, and I even forgot to sn**ch pics of a few campers before they left!

First day of Cake Camp! It was fun to have all returning campers this year. These kiddos already know how things go and they did a fabulous job. It is so fun to see their skills improve every year!

I’ve tried to figure out how to write this post, and it is just hard. But it has to be done, so here we go… Once upon a time, I was a teacher. When I became a mom, I was grateful that I had the choice to stay at home. Soon after that, I found my passion for cake decorating and started my business. I have loved it. I wish I could keep doing it. But sometimes as a mom you have to make a choice because it’s what your kid needs. And right now what my kid needs is going to require me to have a full-time job. So as hard as it is, I will not be taking new orders for the foreseeable future. If you are a customer who has already paid a deposit to reserve a spot, don’t worry! I will still be filling those orders unless you speak with me about canceling. I am grateful to have been offered a position at Eubanks Intermediate School, where I will be teaching 6th grade math. I’m really excited about this new adventure, even though I am also sad to leave this part of my life behind. The biggest piece of good news is for all my Cupcake and Cake Campers: I WILL STILL DO SUMMER CAMPS NEXT YEAR!!!! I am so grateful for all of my customers, and I’m sorry that I’m disappointing you with this announcement. Thank you for letting me be a part of your celebrations throughout the years.

Last day of Cupcake Camp! The theme was Movies, and these kids sure made deciding on a winning team hard! Just look at their amazing creations!!! I had to have my kids help me judge because I couldn't decide. Congrats to the Swifties, who won for best cupcakes today!

Day 2 of cupcake camp! This is a really creative bunch, and I'm super excited to see what they're going to come up with for our cupcake war on Friday. We spent today learning how to color frosting, practicing our piping skills, and then we even had some time to play with fondant!

This cake was so fun! First of all, I love the design. Second, it was for someone I know which is always fun! The birthday girl always made rainbow cakes for her kids when they were young, so this special lady's daughter requested a rainbow cake to honor her mom. It's rainbow inside too, which is always fun.
