We went apple picking yesterday and since today was a windy and chilly day, I decided to put those freshly picked apples to good use! This cinnamon swirl apple fritter loaf was made for a crisp fall morning....serve it up with some hot black coffee and you're guaranteed to have a good day!

I've been DYING to share this cake I made a few weeks ago. It was created for a monthly monochrome baking collab on Instagram but I couldn't post until today.

Monochrome just means "shades of the same color", so while I could've gone with anything, I went with the traditional shades of black for Halloween. The cake itself is devil's food with a dark chocolate whipped filling and it's covered in a swiss meringue buttercream. The decor is not edible.

I really love the dark beauty of this cake and can't wait to join this collab again next month!

This one was SO MUCH FUN!
Devil's food cake with oreo whip filling, covered in vanilla whip and accompanied by half a dozen chocolate cupcakes. This cake is a birthday girl's dream with candies, balloons and a chocolate covered oreo!

This month I joined an Instagram collab with hundreds of other bakers all using the same theme to inspire their creations. The theme for this months was complementary colors so I chose blue and orange as my inspiration. This was my first time painting on cake as well as coloring swiss meringue buttercream. It was a fun challenge and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Something a little different!
We're heading out for a camping trip and what better breakfast when sitting outside the tent with coffee than cinnamon crumb coffee cake?!
I grew up loving this sweet cinnamon treat but this is the first time I've attempted making one from scratch. While the boxed version is delightful, I am so glad I put in the extra effort for this one!

I've been wanting to make a peanut butter cake for awhile now so for my brother in law's birthday, that's just what I did!
Triple chocolate fudge cake with peanut butter swiss meringue buttercream and layers of peanut butter cups and peanut butter drizzle. Peanut butter heaven!
