Ever since I started baking, I’ve had so many of you ask about my sourdough starter… so I finally decided to offer it in a way I can safely ship 🤍

I’m drying some out and offering dehydrated sourdough starter from my kitchen to yours.
This is the same starter I used every day for the past three years ~ nothing fancy, just a strong, well-cared-for, reliable starter that’s been part of my baking for a long time.

Options:
1 tbsp starter — $15
(includes PDF rehydration guide)

2 tbsp starter (50% hard red wheat) — $20
(includes PDF rehydration guide + Lemon Poppy Seed loaf recipe 🍋)

Chocolate starter (2 tbsp) — $20 (only 2 available) 🍫🍒
(includes PDF rehydration guide + Double Chocolate Cherry artisan recipe)
All instructions + recipes will be sent as PDFs after purchase, so you’ll have everything saved and easy to follow.

Once rehydrated, your starter will come back to life ~ it just takes a little patience and you’ll have it bubbling again.
If you’ve been wanting to get into sourdough but didn’t want to start from scratch, this is a really sweet place to begin.

hi there, popping in for a small moment.

it’s a rainy day here again, and days like this always make me want to spend more time working with pastry. lately i’ve been wanting to make it more and more, so today felt like the perfect excuse.

today’s little bake turned into poptart pizzas. apricot, raspberry, and mixed berry, along with a simple cinnamon and sugar one. simple, cozy, and the kind of thing that feels just right on a quiet rainy afternoon.

i’ve already been sharing these over on my main account Olivia Kovach, or if you’re on instagram .kovach. all inquiries for orders or special event bakes are taken through there.

these are always a fun one for me to make. shaping the twists and letting the dough ferment & rise, seeing how they turn out in the end.

they take just over 48 hours from start to finish with the sourdough fermentation, but that slow process is what gives them their soft texture and depth of flavor along with the gut health benefits.

light, crisp, and made with just a few simple ingredients. these are one of my favorite little things to bake when I want something savory and homemade.

ingredients you’ll need to make these ~
1 cup almond flour
1 large egg
1 tsp everything but the bagel seasoning
1 tsp dried chives or dill
pinch of salt

i hate comparing homemade bread to store bought because it really is just incomparable.

however….

real, naturally fermented sourdough is fermented slowly for many hours. during that time the wild yeast and bacteria begin breaking down the gluten and starches in the grain, meaning part of the digestion has already started before you even eat it.

most homemade sourdough sandwich bread is made with about four simple ingredients. flour, water, salt, and starter. many store bought loaves contain 15 or more ingredients, including preservatives and dough conditioners.

that difference matters.
simple ingredients.
slow fermentation.

bread the way it was meant to be.
