Transparency post. I do not send out a cake I don't love. Client shared a photo of the florals being used, I didn't have a cake inspo photo but came up with vintage piping incorporating colors, it worked in my head and that usually works for me. This cake didn't feel right to me, yes I incorporated the colors like we spoke about and it was pretty but I just didn't love it for the occasion. It didn't scream elegant and classy to me. I contacted my client and said hey, I don't love this, please be honest. She agreed it was beautiful but not the right vibe. So, we did some vision talking and made a better plan. I scraped and started over, she will add florals. Now I can send out a cake that I'm proud of. I'm human, I am an artist, and some days my vision is lacking, some days I don't love what I create. On those days, I appreciate the honesty but also the understanding and kindness shown to me. We all have an off day. I am always growing and trying to do better. You can't do better til you humble yourself and admit when you mess up. Every cake won't be perfect because I am humam, but I'll do my best to send out something I love. Happy weekend yall!
