Hello! We would like to thank everyone who has supported Kaytie’s fundraising. We hope you have enjoyed the baked goods, crafts and jewelry purchased. Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw Kaytie from the Spain trip at this time. When she enrolled, the school was in full support of the trip and it was considered a school sponsored activity. In the past few months, there have been changes with the trip director and most concerning is that the school has removed themselves from any involvement in the trip. We are not comfortable with our 14-year-old going on a foreign trip with a private group of citizens. The support of the school was a safety precaution that we valued. While we understand why the school would change their policy with foreign travel, we feel it would be best to not continue on the trip without their support. We hope that Kaytie will have the opportunity in the future and be able to fulfill her dreams of travel and pursuing an education of different cultures while continuing to develop her language skills with Spanish as a 2nd language. The money earned will be put into a savings account to be used for Kaytie’s future education pursuits. Thank you so much for understanding. If you did make a donation without receiving any goods or services, please reach out to us and we would understand if you would like that refunded. Our biggest concern is that we are completely transparent and portray how much we appreciated the support. Kaytie’s future is bright and she will have many more opportunities that will be in a safer and more secure situation! Again, thank you so much for understanding our decision and supporting Kaytie.
