We started our business in 2011 and chose the name "Grampas" as an acronym for "The Great American Pasty and Pie Co" Retired Chef Gerard has taught all his grandchildren to cook and everything is known as "Grampas" recipe. Our objective with our business is to bring a unique freshly made product made with lots of love direct to our customer through the avenue of the farmers market. With our Englis

h/South African background we combined our "English pie" with the Michiganders "Yooper" pasty and now have 14 varieties appealing to all taste buds. This has been such a success that what began as "just the two of us" to a small hands on company employing staff and agents to take our product to as many customers as possible. Our market customers have been a loyal factor in our success and we also pay tribute to our market managers who have supported us and given guidance along the way. We are proud to be partners with both and are proud to be "uniquely Michigan"

Shepherd's pie or Cottage pie... Lamb or ground beef, with peas and topped off with creamy mashed potato & cheese. We make ours with Angus ground beef, onions & a layer of peas, topped with mashed potato & cheese. They come packaged frozen. A quick fully cooked meal, thaw and bake in your air fryer until your topping is slightly brown or in your oven. Enjoy!

Michiganders don’t say “no.”

We say it gently. With a smile. Wrapped in politeness and weather awareness.

“Yeah, we’ll see.”
That’s not indecision. That’s closure.

“Sounds good.”
It does not, in fact, sound good.

“Maybe later.”
Later is a mythical season that exists somewhere between second winter and construction season.

“I might stop by.”
Translation: I will absolutely not be leaving my house, especially if it’s dark before 6 pm.

We don’t reject plans. We slowly let them fade into the Great Lakes.

“Let’s plan something soon” is less of a plan and more of a ceremonial goodbye. It’s the Midwest version of bookmarking an idea you will never open again.

And “Drive safe” isn’t just kindness. It’s the verbal period at the end of the sentence. Conversation over. We are done here.

It’s not passive-aggressive. It’s survival mixed with social courtesy.

We care. We just also care about not driving 27 minutes in sleet to stand around in someone’s kitchen when we could be home under a blanket.

The secret language of Michiganders isn’t cold.

It’s efficient.

And if someone says, “We should get together soon,” just nod, smile, and check the weather app.

You already know what it means.
