What an incredible night! ๐โ๏ธ
A huge thank you to everyone who braved the storm on Tuesday and joined me for Crafty Chicks: Sourdough with Celtic Crumbs at Folk Song Farm!
It was such a joy meeting all of you, sharing my love of sourdough, answering your questions, and of course, enjoying plenty of bread and treats together. I truly hope you left feeling inspired and excited to give sourdough a try! Remember, sourdough is a journey. There will be joy, experimentation, lots of fun, maybe a little frustration, and hopefully plenty of delicious things along the way. Don't be afraid to reach out with questions or if you need help. I would LOVE to see what you create! ๐๐
This class was also a pretty special milestone for Celtic Crumbs and for me personally. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone in the very best way. To prepare for one evening, I created a 62-page beginner's guide book, dehydrated sourdough starter packets with instructions, 2 batches of brownies, 3 batches of cookies, and 26 loaves of sourdough, including 8 loaves turned into minis. After three days of dough, baking, packing, planning, and preparing... somehow it all came together! ๐
And I couldn't have done it alone.
Thank you to Folk Song Farm for welcoming Celtic Crumbs into your beautiful barn. There is something truly magical about that place, and I feel so honored to have been a small part of its story. Another event there means another wonderful memory made in a place filled with some pretty incredible and inspiring people.
Thank you to my mom for all your help day of. Especially those last-minute details, packing, cleaning, and hauling some VERY heavy totes.
And thank you to my husband, who has supported this crazy little sourdough journey every step of the way. You've helped bring my book to life, served as my IT guru, taste tester, sounding board for all things sourdough, builder of increasingly necessary baking storage ๐, and most importantly, you've continued encouraging me to push myself and do something I genuinely love.
When I started baking sourdough, I certainly didn't know where this little hobby would take me. Now it has led to Celtic Crumbs, creating a book, sharing what I've learned, teaching my first class, meeting new people, and becoming part of an even bigger sourdough community. One class. 26 loaves. A whole lot of flour. And one experience I'll never forget. ๐โ๏ธ
Thank you to everyone who helped make it so special. I'm excited to see where this sourdough journey takes Celtic Crumbs next!
And to everyone who attended: keep baking, keep experimenting, and please send me pictures of your creations! ๐๐
